I wonder if Marlins even fought it at that point, to make some good will for extension?  You would think they could have came to agreement prior to hearing after the trade was made, not sure the rules on that though.

The AP story states that Miami argued at the hearing to pay him $5 mil and lost. If Arraez didn't win it would have shown that the arbitration system was broken.

Way to go Luis. 6.1 million is a lot of money, but is well deserved.  I am happy for him.
