Here is a trade proposal with the pirates

Twins Get: David Bednar

Pirates Get: Bailey Ober and Alejandro Hidalgo

If we end up trading for one of the Marlins pitchers there will not be enough space for Ober in the rotation unless we have a six man. The Pirates want pitching and we need bullpen help. This is the perfect proposal for both sides and I hope it gets done. What are your thoughts?

I don't mind Bednar. But I think he'd be 3rd option behind Duran and Lopez. 

 

I also think Maeda would be the first to get bumped out of the starting 5. They seem to really like Ober. Depends on if they change their pitching philosophy with Wes gone.

I wouldn't do that deal. When Ober pitches, he's been good. Yeah, if they bring in more starters there will be a glut, but keep in mind they will most likely be losing Gray, Mahle, and Maeda after this year. Ober is the kind of guy the Twins should be clinging to; a young controllable starter that has had success at the MLB level.

Ober will get starts. We started with a 6-man rotation last year and still ended up starting Chi Chi Gonzalez by the middle of the season. Would rather sign someone like Fulmer for just money than lose starting depth for Bednar.

Don't trade ML Pitching that has been above average.

Getting Bednar is a Yes, doing it with a ML quality starter is a No. 

I'd try to sell them on Jordy Blaze (after I'd absorbed a couple of those Marlins Starters) and another good prospect.
