Right.

And some players take advantage of the opportunity, often, and some don't.

OBP in an RBI situation is pretty overrated.

The object of the game is to cross home plate. That doesn't happen very often unless someone drives in runs. At the end of the season, I'll take RBI as a contribution to winning games over any other offensive stat. Any. Other. Offensive. Stat.

Even for a leadoff hitter in the national league? Tough crowd.

So you would say that Miranda has been a more valuable offensive player for the Twins this year than Arraez?

Not liking our odds of winning this in extras.

Letting this one slip away would be soul crushing.

Just like so many others this season.

Exactly. The legitimate HR record is 61.

Ya! Beanies don't count! That's just speed.

I'm not sure what the National League has to do with it, but yeah. If he gets few opportunities, then he can contribute by cashing a good percentage of the opportunities he gets, driving himself in, and getting on base a lot. Running the bases well.

I fully understand there are many componants to a good offense. But at the end of the day. only scoring runs matters. And it's tough to consistently score runs if you don't have guys in the lineup who drive them in.

True.  But they’d also have the kiss of death.  RISP with nobody out.

True.  Not much uncrushed soul left.  Silver lining.

I would say both the RBI hitter and the runner or runners driven in are equally important

Good time for a newbie at 2nd.

Miranda's bat is a plus but other wise you do not play rookies against the Yankees.

Great...our best pitcher is in to hold them, and we're gonna start kicking the ball around.
