Thing is, Rocco let Bundy go into the heart of the Bosox lineup for the third time last night, and he let Magill face Bogaerts and Devers tonight after giving up a walk and a double.  Given all the injuries, Rocco has to use risky options right now at decisive points of games.  He seems to be balancing the risk and reward pretty well this week.

Also, Pagan gets a 5-run lead and the 8-9 hitters to start.  If you're going to use him with a lead, this is the time.

The thing I like about Pagan is that we went and got Fulmer and Lopez.

Pagan walked a guy, struck a guy out, got a pop up and a weak grounder and preserved a 5 run lead.  He did his job.  Other things to focus on tonight!

Yup. Jake Reed, who started the year for the Mets, was DFAd the first part of July with an 11.37 ERA in 6.1 innings and the Dodgers bit and let him pitch in 3 games in July (got his ERA down to 9.00! in another 2.2 innings pitched) and then spent the rest of the month pitching well in OKC AAA, and just recalled and thrown into the 9th with a one run lead against the Mets. Our better friend Eduardo Escobar led off with a single, and then Reed induced two grounders, the first for the double play and the second for the save. ERA all the way down to 8.10. Pretty amazing he got in that game, really.
