stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 The Twins meet the Rangers in game 2 of a 4-game wraparound series at Target Field. Chris Archer starts for the Twins, while the Rangers are sending out Glenn Otto. I haven't paid much attention to the Wildcard race, assuming the AL East would provide all of the wildcard teams. Seattle has moved into good position to take a spot. I wouldn't be surprised to see an AL Central team sneak in as well, so even if the Twins don't win the Central, they still have a chance. Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Yes ,go Twins! Good game all around.
Diesel Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 If there is an iffy call that goes against the Twins, Rocco better put on a show for Gardy!

Diesel Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Gardy, on his former players in attendance for his HOF induction: "This group of guys, some of them got me fired. And I still love them to death." Looking on Baseball Reference, for the 2012-2014 seasons…. he’s right. Those rosters were atrocious.

It's always been my contention that the ones who put together the team and the ones executing the game are the primary reasons for wins and losses

stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Well, we probably already knew that not many, Archer included, can afford to go 2-0 or 3-1 to big league hitters.
Parfigliano Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Looked like Kepler quit on that ball
stringer bell Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Author Posted August 20, 2022 Misplay by Kepler.
mnfireman Verified Member Posted August 20, 2022 Posted August 20, 2022 Misjudged it maybe, or lost it in the sun momentarily.

Parfigliano Verified Member Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Correa and his 39 RBI or Buxton and his 51....which is more problematic?

Could be injured? 5 for 15 on the last 4 games (one a 3 hit game) with a double and a couple RBI, a stolen base, 3 runs scored, and that game ending throw for a double play that saved the victory of the game Lopez was trying to blow? Yesterday's game. The last game. He was slow coming back from his still healing broken toe, but I think he is pretty much in the game and enjoying now, myself.

Doctor Gast Verified Member Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 This line up is terrible! Get you head in the game!
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Gordon's single notwithstanding, I'm not getting good vibes about this game. Especially with the offense mostly failing to show up last night. After the first few batters last night, it's basically 10 straight innings of absolutely nothing positive. Hope I'm mistaken on all of this.
Mortimerkenny21 Verified Member Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 I think we're gonna light up Otto in the 3rd inning!
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 21, 2022 Posted August 21, 2022 Archer falling over on the mound.
