Game Thread: Rangers @ Twins 6:10 PM 8/20/2021

The Twins meet the Rangers in game 2 of a 4-game wraparound series at Target Field. Chris Archer starts for the Twins, while the Rangers are sending out Glenn Otto. 

I haven't paid much attention to the Wildcard race, assuming the AL East would provide all of the wildcard teams. Seattle has moved into good position to take a spot. I wouldn't be surprised to see an AL Central team sneak in as well, so even if the Twins don't win the Central, they still have a chance.

Looking on Baseball Reference, for the 2012-2014 seasons…. he’s right. Those rosters were atrocious.

The FO had something to do with that, too. It's always been my contention that the ones who put together the team and the ones executing the game are the primary reasons for wins and losses

5 for 15 on the last 4 games (one a 3 hit game) with a double and a couple RBI, a stolen base, 3 runs scored, and that game ending throw for a double play that saved the victory of the game Lopez was trying to blow? Yesterday's game. The last game.

He was slow coming back from his still healing broken toe, but I think he is pretty much in the game and enjoying now, myself.

That's true, he has had a few nice games recently, against the Angels and KC. Hope he can keep it going.

He was 0 fer Toronto, 0 fer Dodgers, and 0 fer Angels ..... 0 fer August before the last 4 games coming back from the IL. But he is on it since.

Gordon's single notwithstanding, I'm not getting good vibes about this game.  Especially with the offense mostly failing to show up last night.

After the first few batters last night, it's basically 10 straight innings of absolutely nothing positive. 

Hope I'm mistaken on all of this.
