I know everyone is down on Miguel, but the guy hit 30 HR last year.   If he's productive during his rehab he's done enough to get another look. Who goes off the roster? I'm glad I don't make those decisions.

His one strength is his strength. 30 home runs in 135 games and over 500 plate appearances for someone of his stature says nothing about his ability as a major league hitter. He could go up there blind folded and hit 20. How many "looks" does he need? Let him ride buses for a while and only bring him up if he is CONSISTENTLY playing well and the Twins start losing and need a spark.

To an extent, they owe him an opportunity to come back from his injury. They have a contract with him, and if they don’t give him a chance to come back, I imagine that’s a union grievance and a black mark on future free agent signings and extensions

The Twins owe Sano money, not playing time or a roster spot.

There is no union grievance unless they don't pay him.

30 HRs isn't something to turn your nose up at per se, but this offense doesn't really need another streaky hitter who strikes out a ton, has no defensive value, but hits the occasional HR. The juice probably isn't worth the squeeze in regard to the cost of seeing whether or not "good Sano," shows up, and how long that lasts, but I doubt that'll stop us from watching the soap opera unfold.

Sano hit 30 HR's so he's awesome!!!!

Chris Carter hit 41 home runs in 2016. .222/.321/.499 wRC+ 113
In 2017, Chris Carter hit .201/.284/.370 across only 208 plate appearances wRC+ 74.
In 2018, he was forced to sign a MiLB contract with the Angels, who traded him to the Twins where we stashed him in AAA.

Carter would move onto the Mexican league, never to step foot on an MLB field again. In short, flawed players with unimpressive OBP and streaky power have a very short leash.
