Garver's breakout season was also the juiced ball year.  I dont think he will ever truly replicate that season.  I personally think the production we are going to miss out on is much closer to his 2021 stats than 2019.  Still a good player but not 30+ HR .600 slug good.

 

It's a pretty even trade in my mind, a sacrifice in offensive power but an upgrade in contact, defense and speed (20 stolen bases) .  A wildcard pitching prospect thrown in too.  Not bad but certainly doesnt move the needle anywhere.

Hate to see Garver go, but Twins needed SS. Now do Twins add veteran C to backup Jeffers or go with Rortvedt. Will need 3rd C at some point, not sure who is next is line after Rortvedt in Twins system. Maybe sign a depth C for AAA.

And also figure out who on Earth will be throwing the ball to these catchers.
