pioneers3 Provisional Member Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Wanted to stop by and say Hi, glad I found this site. I am a Brewer Fan first, but I live in Cedar Rapids Iowa now and the Twins minor league team is here, so I have a some what rooting interest for the Twins. I work in baseball and love talking baseball, mostly minor league players from the Midwest league, so most of my post will be on the minor league board about the CR Kernels, Midwest league games. I will tell you, I was here when Mike Trout played, and from the very little I seen of Buxton...well just lets say, I will enjoy watching him play. He will be playing in Target field minimum of 3 years, max 4 years from now. Well look forward to good baseball talk in the future. P.s. I have been around a lot of "professional" baseball players, past and present, and if their is a nicer guy then Tommy "the Mayor" Watkins, I would be shocked.
BrentMpls Provisional Member Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Hi there! What do you do in your work with baseball?
pioneers3 Provisional Member Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 work at Perfect Game USA. I saw a lot of the minor league players and future big league guys while in High School at some of our events. Remember watching Berrios in Fort Myers as a High School Senior...can't wait for him to get to Cedar Rapids in a few weeks.

glunn Community Moderator Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Welcome to TD, pioneer. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to hear your insights about the Kernels. And since you saw Trout coming up, it may be very interesting to hear your comparisons of Trout to Buxton.
righty8383 Verified Member Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 I think I speak for a lot of people at TD when I say, the more first hand accounts regarding minor league games, the better. There are a lot of people here, including myself, that follow the Twins' farm system very closely. So welcome aboard Pioneer!

Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Thanks for visiting the site! By chance, did you find out about us from the advertising we're doing in Cedar Rapids this season?
pioneers3 Provisional Member Posted April 10, 2013 Author Posted April 10, 2013 Thanks for visiting the site! By chance, did you find out about us from the advertising we're doing in Cedar Rapids this season? Saw a retweet of one of the writers that had the link in his profile, so clicked it and lead me here. And 70Charger...I would have your hopes high on Buxton...Trout was just a little more physical when he was here, but they have very similar tools. From the 1 game I saw, I would say Buxton actually has more raw bat speed then Trout did, but Trout was so strong. Trout had a big league body when he was here. Buxton doesn't yet, but he has big league tools. 3 was my college number where I played, had it since the 90's. Kernels were cancelled today, some of their pitchers will be getting a work out in the indoor cages where I work, so I will stop by and watch a few of them work out tonight.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 10, 2013 Posted April 10, 2013 Scouting of the pitchers will be as welcome, or maybe even moreso, as for the position players. The parent roster needs help, and and the fans need hope!
