Twins add two the 15-day DL

The Minnesota Twins announced this afternoon that pitchers Scott Diamond and Anthony Swarzak will begin the season on the 15-day DL.

Edit: Throw Deduno in the mix and perhaps Corriea could come down with bilateral hangnail or something, also.

 

I don't know how Pelfrey pitched last night, but he too could be dl'd the way Hendriks and DeVries are pitching.

Pelfrey: It did not go...terrifically. In 5 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 7 hits.

My hunch is that and the end of April, beggining ofMay Pelfrey is either rehabbing or in AAA (a la Liriano in his first year after TJ), and we have DeVries, Hendricks and Deduno up. Worley is not doing great either, and Correia, well you know.

I want to preface what I'm about to say by noting that its not meant to be a rip on Pelfrey.

 

I hope they are not seriously considering bringing him north if he's not ready, physically, (I'm not down there seeing what they see, so maybe he is?) just to try to win an extra game or two early in the season.

I just dont think he's ready to go, and it could be pretty ugly if he comes north throwing the same stuff he's throwing right now.

And at a higher "acceptable standard" set for Correia of 4-5 runs per 5-6 innings, so there's that! (oh wait, this was in a B game...)
