Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 15, 2019 Posted June 15, 2019 You are about to be slapped. Now go in the corner and spit. I’m about to go golfing, I think tobacco is frowned upon there too. We’re persecuted I tell ya!
Indseym Verified Member Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 I'm trying to quit regular cigarettes and could really use some advice. I've heard there are a lot of different methods and tricks that can help. For those who've successfully quit, what lifehacks worked best for you? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!
Wellimam Verified Member Posted July 22, 2024 Posted July 22, 2024 When I decided to quit smoking regular cigarettes, I found that setting small, manageable goals really helped. For instance, start by reducing the number of cigarettes you smoke each day. Gradually decrease it until you can quit completely. Additionally, keeping your hands and mouth busy with healthier alternatives, like chewing gum or snacking on carrot sticks, can be quite effective. Finding a supportive community, either online or in-person, can also make a big difference. For me, transitioning to vaping played a crucial role in quitting regular cigarettes. It helped me manage my nicotine cravings without the harmful effects of traditional smoking. I started with a vape that mimicked the throat hit of a cigarette, which made the transition smoother. Over time, I was able to reduce the nicotine strength in my vape juice until I no longer needed it. This gradual reduction worked wonders for me, and it might work for you too. It's all about finding the right balance and method that suits you best. If you decide to try vaping as an alternative, Nexus Smoke offers some great options to get you started on your journey to a smoke-free life.

I've never smoked but my brother did, and the one biggest tip I would offer is getting those in your life onboard. My brother purposely married a smoker, on the theory she would never nag him to quit, and the several attempts at quitting he made thereafter never really stuck. You don't need nagging, but being accountable to someone can help. Tell those around you what you are attempting - whether it's tapering off, switching to something else, or cold turkey. Good luck to you.

If their non-baseball peers aren't doing it, and it's not allowed in HS, college, minor league and half of the major league stadiums, that means these guys are actively going out of their way to start this habit. It's not like the Senior catcher is sitting next to the Freshman in the dugout pressuring him to try it anymore. It's not allowed.. but people still do it. You just have to have coaches who don't care. As a high school coach, I had to battle 2 or 3 kids every year. At least half my college teammates chewed (and/or coke).
RpR Verified Member Posted July 23, 2024 Posted July 23, 2024 I used chewing tabacco; the flavored stuff is real good, I did swallow and spit, but figured there are better ways to spend money. I never, ever used snuff and cannot figure how people can like that ****.
