clutchhittin18 Verified Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 It looks like Alex Kirilloff and Lewis Thorpe made the Futures Game rosters for the US and World teams respectively. Congrats to those guys! https://www.mlb.com/news/2018-futures-game-rosters-revealed/c-284471810
FormerMinnasotan Provisional Member Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 That’s great to see Kirilloff and Thorpe being selected to play in the futures game. Kirilloff has definitely exceeded expectations this year and don’t look now but after a rough April Thorpe has come into his own.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 And Torii will manage the U.S. team.

Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Why didn't Lewis make the team?Every organization has to be represented, and no more than two players from any organization. Those types of parameters often lead to snubs.

rdehring Verified Member Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 This is great news for both. But especially for Thorpe who represents the biggest need on the Twins roster, a left handed starter. Hopefully, this can launch him to be even better during the last third of the season. Could there be a promotion to AAA in August? Unfortunately, he is already at the number of innings pitched last year so pitching in September is probably not an option.
