I'm more optimistic about Lynn turning it around than I ever was for Marquis,so I would definitely plan on more than 7 games. The Phil Hughes leash was longer than I would have liked (I would have reigned in by the end of March), but I'm OK with the word today that he has been relegated to the pen and Romero is on the way.

I didn't know what to expect from Lynn, when we signed him. I know I wasn't too optimistic though.

His pre-TJS numbers were most often used to encourage optimism, but not every pitcher recovers the same from that procedure, so those numbers are pretty irrelevant, IMO.

I remain hopeful that he'll improve as the season goes on. But, if he doesn't, I'm also hopeful the FO will be willing to decisively move on quickly. Hopeful that they won't fall back on his pre surgery numbers.

Fortunately, the Hughes decision gives me more evidence that they will.

I was initially optimistic about the Lynn signing and now i regret it.  At least the Twins only have him signed to a one year deal and can dump him this offseason.  Hughes will be gone at seasons end i think, there's only so much of this they can put up with.   Santana will be a free agent unless the Twins pick up his option at this point if i remember correctly.

I think a lot of this will depend on how Romero does when he's called up. There will be a lot less room for patience if he hits the ground running. Odorizzi, Gibson, and Berrios are all pitching quite well at the moment. If Romero pitches well, Lynn is the odd guy out when one of May/Santana returns.

Not sure I agree on Odorizzi. His bb and k rates are both career worsts at this point, and his FIP is 5.85. He's got disaster written all over him if he doesn't get those in check.

I am more concerned about Gibson tbh despite 6 starts of bad FIP.

I figured Lynn would be good for around 180 innings of 3.80 - 4.40 ERA and be a solid 3-4 starter. He needs to turn it around or go to the pen or DL...

Hughes should get a month in the pen and if he improves another start or DL. I think he will be on the roster till next year at some point as an over priced depth piece. Especially if he can show any improvement at all.

The other 3 are atleast getting the job done. I am excited to see what Romero can do.

Gonsalves, Slegers, and Mejia should be up to take Lynns spot soon.
