It has been my great privilege to initiate a thread with this title. Fleeting as it may be.

I can only invest the time to see the first 6 minutes of tonight's game, and I hope I prove to be wrong, but my impression is that we are seeing the miracle of birth: an egg is being laid.

Playoff Chris Paul showed up tonight.

 

Unfortunately, the one time the Wolves got scoring from their bench, the starters didn't do enough.

 

This should have been a Wolves win with how bad Houston shot it. Missed opportunity.

Listening to the TNT guys talk about the Wolves is a good way to drive yourself insane, and yet I can't stop listening.

But 7 shots for KAT? That’s absurd.

They did a lot better than I thought. Kudos to them. Hope it keeps up. Maybe I'll try another reverse-jinx or two.

On the one hand, it’s tough to be upset about the Wolves keeping Houston in check for one of the closest games in the opening weekend of action. On the other hand, Houston’s 3-point troubles should have gifted the wolves their best chance at an upset in this series. They will not keep throwing up bricks from downtown. I smell a blow out in game 2.

Ricky Rubio is killing it for the Jazz. He just had a triple-double tonight, and I'm really rooting for them, unless they play the Wolves next round

The Wolves just gave up 50 points in one quarter of basketball. At home.

 

I'm glad they made the playoffs. You can only get that experience by being there.

But boy oh boy do they have a long ways to go to get from here to legit contender.
