Bob Sacamento Verified Member Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 That's an awfully big leg kick. And they did not take it away through the season, it'll be interesting to see if he still has it in ST this year.

diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 I'm not saying Lewis should be off the table, I'm only saying he should be off the table right now. Because I strongly feel that while he's a 25-ish prospect right now, he'll be a top ten guy by season's end. Which means he can centerpiece a deal for basically any pitcher on the market and other teams can't beat the offer. Right now, that's not the case. You'll be tossing in other quality prospects to match other teams, likely good prospects with real upside like Thorpe or Gonsalves. That's a fair take. If they are that confident he's a top 10 guy this time next year, than yeah, I'd probably have a similar opinion. I'm not quite as confident as you are, but I hope you're right.

I wasn't that high on him at the draft but after listening to him speak and hearing about his work ethic, I'm getting a Berrios feel from him. jokin 1
Whammy Verified Member Posted February 23, 2018 Posted February 23, 2018 Given the Twins’ recent luck he’ll probably need surgery that is performed on pitchers 99% of the time. Or maybe a completely different sport. Tennis Elbow?Cauliflower Ear Infection?Black Lung? Mr. Brooks and jokin 2
TheLeviathan Old-Timey Member Posted February 24, 2018 Posted February 24, 2018 I wasn't necessarily saying the leg kick was a bad thing. But you don't see many like that last until the majors.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 McKenzie Gore, Hunter Greene, Brendan McKay, and Kyle Wright aren't going to help any team in 2018. I'm not sure that your point here has any real relevance. It was either a high-quality decision or it was not, and the early indicators are fabulous. Strange comment. With the ever-increasingly and prohibtively high cost of pitching and the ever-present/all-but-inevitable likelihood of pitching arms breaking down.... I think it's safe to say that Mike's point about constantly improving in other areas such as defense and hitting has very real relevance in order to stay competitive. Especially considering... We're in the minor league forum, ie, we're all talking about more than just what transpires in 2018.

This. I was like many, disappointed on draft day. But this kid is really growing on me, much like BOTH Berrios and Buxton. diehardtwinsfan 1
