jimmer Verified Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 Orioles are seeking two controllable young pitchers for one year of Machado. Would Gonsalves/Romero + Jorge get the job done?I doubt it, but we would get one year of Machado.

jimmer Verified Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 (edited) If Machado was open to a 4 year extension, he'd be in Baltimore for 5 more yearsWell, I did say 4 OR MORE. Also possible he doesn't want to stay there since he wants to be a SS and they keep putting him at 3B. Who knows. Edited December 13, 2017 by jimmer
The Wise One Verified Member Posted December 13, 2017 Posted December 13, 2017 ... and if you go back to 2015 both Cobb and Lynn have xFIPs ranked below Kyle Gibson over the last 3 years. Yes. They had serious injuries but that shouldn’t be a plus. What is the likelihood they return to their form of 2012-2014? There might be a few front offices seriously concerned about committing to 4 years of their decline.Any player that you sign in free agency is going to be in danger of declining. The question would be when. Other than the TJ, Lynn has been relatively healthy starting 30 or more games a year . Not so with Cobb. Cobb is more likely to decline quicker than Lynn. It is not like the farm system of the Twins is so deep that the team can trade for multiple top oe tear top of the rotation pitchers. You have to take a chance
