Sano Takes Over All-Star Lead

MLB.com just updated the AL All-Star Voting Results and Sano has taken over the lead at third base. 

 

Here are the update vote totals:

THIRD BASE
1. Miguel Sano, Twins: 638,952
2. Jose Ramirez, Indians: 541,040
3. Manny Machado, Orioles: 520,116
4. Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays: 332,287
5. Alex Bregman, Astros: 305,348

 

Fans may cast votes for starters at MLB.com. Vote up to five times in any 24-hour period for a maximum of 35 ballots cast. You can also use multiple email addresses to get more votes.

That's a huge jump for Sano. Indians fans are doing their part, as they've got a player in the top 5 at every position, so hopefully Sano can hold off Jose Ramirez.

He's the only player in the league who's numbers are THAT much better than anyone else's at his position. I think that will stand out even to casual voters.

This was my thought as well. Machado has some name recognition. Donaldson was on the DL so he could come on strong in the weeks ahead.

At this point, I Don't Know is on third.

 

As far as I can tell, the name of the right fielder is never revealed.  Perhaps, since Why is in LF and Because is in CF, the RFer is I said So...

Sano extended his lead in the latest update AL All Star voting update. He's one of eight AL players to have more than 1 million votes.

 

Here's the latest vote totals:

THIRD BASE
1. Miguel Sano, Twins: 1,010,060
2. Jose Ramirez, Indians: 697,747
3. Manny Machado, Orioles: 677,925
4. Josh Donaldson, Blue Jays: 527,680
5. Alex Bregman, Astros: 512,734

 

Fans may cast votes for starters at MLB.com and all 30 club sites -- on computers, tablets and smartphones -- exclusively online using the 2017 Esurance MLB All-Star Game Ballot until Thursday, June 29, at 11:59 p.m. ET.
