Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I know... we have many Brian Dozier threads... so... another couldn't hurt. Post your Three Team Trade Ideas Here Just for Giggles I'll throw one out Dozier to PiratesMcCutchen to MetsMets Pitching to Twins Plus whatever from whoever to tidy it up.
ashbury Verified Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I floated this earlier regarding the Marlins and got informed that Mattingly doesn't like Puig. So, find me a different team that would like Puig as a bounce-back candidate, perhaps an impoverished team, and try this: LA: Pitching (JDL, plus 1 or 2 lesser prospects) to Minn, Puig to Team XTeam X: Strong pitching prospect to MinnMinn: Dozier to LA, half Puig's salary to Team X I still believe LA is under pressure from MLB to reduce either debt or payroll, and this provides relief without having to actually take Puig ourselves.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I floated another idea earlier too: Dozier to LADCurrent LAD prospect package to TBRTBR pitching to Minn (Colome?)
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Puig's salary is pretty much exactly offset by Dozier's. He's not making much. I think the debt ratio thing was overblown, but if it was a big deal, they probably wouldn't have given raises to Turner and Jansen, and they'd probably need to move McCarthy or Kazmir, not Puig. And Puig was their best hitter vs LHP last year, it would kinda defeat the purpose of adding Dozier to ship him out in the process.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 I floated another idea earlier too: Dozier to LADCurrent LAD prospect package to TBRTBR pitching to Minn (Colome?)Tampa could just send Forsythe to LA.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Tampa could just send Forsythe to LA.I know there were rumors the Dodgers inquired about forsythe, but were the Rays ever on board with the possibility? Most rumors I have read about the Rays is they were looking to shop pitching. Namely, Colome but I might have missed something.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Would a Colome package even top a De Leon led package by that much?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 Tampa could just send Forsythe to LA. Rays need offense.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted January 6, 2017 Author Posted January 6, 2017 Dozier to CardsCards Pitcher to Twins Wong to BravesBraves Pitcher to Twins
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Would a Colome package even top a De Leon led package by that much?Maybe Colome plus Hu or some other pitching prospect to round it out? Another idea:Twins send Dozier to LAD, Kepler + Kiriloff to TBRLAD sends specs to TBRRays send Archer to Min (Twins sign Joey Bats)
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted January 6, 2017 Posted January 6, 2017 Here's my recycled idea from a couple weeks back: Twins to get: De Leon, Bellinger, Stewart, Ross Stripling, Dalton Pompey and Sean Reid FoleyDodgers to get: Dozier, Danny Barnes, TJ Zeuch and Vlad Guerrero Jr.Blue Jays to get: Santana, Eddie Rosario and Yasiel Puig and $$$
