Given how much Plouffe got in a trade, I'm guessing that's a non starter. If they wanted to showcase him in a position that would increase his value, it would be seeing if he could go back to being a SS. If his defense fell into the 'slightly below average' range, his bat would more than makeup that difference.

I believe The Shredder on the MLB network had Dozier 8th or 9th too.  No market bias there.  Some of the analysts on the show had Dozier higher.

I must be a bit higher on Escobar than you are.  EE was bad in 2016, but adequate in 2015.  I'm going with his injury there. 

 

But yeah, if the Twins want to showcase someone, moving Dozier back to SS would do it.  I'm not sure that's the right answer, he failed there, but then again, he wasn't good at 2B when he first moved there either, so perhaps he just learned something.

Esco had 627 innings at shortstop in 2015. His career fielding UZR 150 is .1. He's a fine bench guy and maybe '16 was an injury plagued season and in 2014 he truly turned a corner but I struggle with counting on that.
