Looks like Cleveland just made a nice addition in signing Edwin Encarnacion to a 3 year deal with an option. 3 years $65M. Kind of surpised there was no opt out after 1 season.

If we sign yet another DH/1B type, and don't sign any SP of either immediate or very near ready ability, I will tear out my hair, weave it into a shirt, and wear it to a game in protest. Ok, that scenario may be slightly hyperbolic, but it does reflect my feelings on this team signing a veteran DH type!

Trade Dozier, sign Rajai Davis, and Trevor Cahill. That would be a great couple of moves for not a ton of money.

I don't know if it only one person but Napoli to the Twins is a confusing direction.

 

Why sign a 35 yr old broken down DH/1B. Yes, he loves to hit HR's but the Twins are locked in with Mauer (not going), Sano (should DH or 1B) and have two possible DH's in Vargas and Park. I would like to see what those two can do in a rebuilding year.

Is it just you spitballing or are there actual rumors?

Even if Park isn't part of the equation there is still Vargas and not to mention Sano shouldn't really be at 3B and Palka is coming up soon also. DH is crowded and I would be surprised if the FO is looking at bringing anyone in much less an almost finished bat only player on a short term contract. I can see the team adding a player in the profile of Dexter Fowler because of versatility but not a broken down almost finished DH (and maybe 1B) type.

I think it was an erroneous report. The thread was started by someone here who said they heard it on Doogie's podcast, but I listened and no mention was made of Napoli. Never saw any mention of it elsewhere either.

Great signing for Cleveland. They are now a better team than last year.

Rajai Davis is light years better than D Santana, so the Twins should make that move regardless of the Dozier situation.
