Hmmm...  comparisons to Pedro Martinez maybe a bit...  hmmm...  Delivery reminds me a lot more of a really short Ubaldo Jimenez...

What is "whatnot?" I was on a puddle jumper a couple years ago, really loud and cramped, and the flight attendant must have said we were going to have "a, b and whatnot " at least 20 times. When I'm on a rackety puddle jumper, I'd like to know with specificity what's going to happen. I don't want to be told that "whatnot" is going to happen. So, can someone tell me, what is whatnot?

In airline venacular, a whatnot is when the plane plummets straight into the ground! But I have no idea what a or b means? :)

Berrios reminds me of that Brendan Fraser movie where he's drafted by the Yankees and is too afraid to come out of the bathroom for his first start.

 

Except Berrios came out. Perhaps he shouldn't have.

The four pitch bases loaded walk is the baseball equivalent of shooting a fellow soldier in the foot.  Dude is hit just the same, but it's worse for morale than taking the same hit while fighting.

 

And another one up, and another one up, another one walks to first!

I don't get this. How can a guy annihilate minor league hitters but then at the first sign of trouble in the majors, he forgets how to throw a strike?

Right now we have one major league pitcher in Santana.  That is inexcusable.  Now, if you have mediocre at best pitchers, you cannot have mediocre at best defense.  The pitchers get no help.

He was using other words, but after hearing "whatnot" a few times, I couldn't clearly pick out anything else.

Instead of seeing and thinking about nothing but the catcher's mitt, he sees and thinks about everything but the catcher's mitt.
