Vargas would get a chance to DH against righties and get spot starts at first. On another note, it is getting increasingly difficult to keep Buxton in AAA. He is now up to .333 with a 3-4 night and a homer. With Mastrionni out, Buxton could get a call back soon.Vargas also stayed hot going 2-4 with a BB, R, and RBI.
old nurse Verified Member Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Atlanta is the key to Minnesota's roster problem. How many players can they offload for the competitive balance pick? Add a couple of marginal prospects to get a player you want, back
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I'm not sure Atlanta will send a nice prospect back. They are stock piling them. They will send someone who has limited upside or minor league filler for Nolasco and that comp pick, but that would be about it.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 For the record, I'd rather just DFA Nolasco and eat it.

We can search high and low for minor league filler or the worst of the worst contracts out there, but I think we're wasting our time doing so. What has Nolasco shown in the last 3 years that would drum up any interest to trade for him?
gil4 Verified Member Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Why in a completely crap-ass season do people want Vargas to *prove it longer* in MiLB?!?! I'm so sick of this season already, having a dude like Vargas take a couple hundred at bats would make me actually interested in watching the team this summer. It's not that he needs to prove it longer. It's just the "it" he has already proved isn't terribly impressive. He provides marginal offense and zero defense, which makes him adequate as injury insurance stashed in AAA, but nothing more.
