adorduan Verified Member Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 I know this doesn't solve any of the Twins problems but I thought I'd throw some numbers out there to show that other teams have some problems too. Danny Santana has a a higher OPS .645 than: Matt Duffy .629Jason Heyward .611Justin Upton .589Mark Teixeira .578Prince Fielder .562Kendrys Morales .567 Not to mention the contracts of most of those guys. 1st basemen with big contracts Mauer OPS .728Pujols OPS .704Votto OPS .697 Ricky Nolasco's FIP 3.87 is better than: Felix Hernandez 4.05Max Sherzer 4.25Cole Hamels 4.44Sonny Gray 5.21Adam Wainwright 4.10Justin Verlander 4.01Dallas Keuchel 4.04
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted May 23, 2016 Posted May 23, 2016 Nice. Of those numbers, I'm most surprised by Heyward.

Mostly thanks to an over-emphasis on WAR. He was a solid signing for the Cubs based on need, but he's not as good as he's often talked about.
