AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Pfff. I played RF for my slo-pitch softball team and had the same talent. And, as I think we all recognize, Ash, you are truly a rare talent. ashbury 1
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I didn't see this anywhere, but maybe I missed it -- not that I'm looking forward to the winter of 20whatever, but was Berrios kept in the minors long enough to get the extra year of team control?Yes he was. IndianaTwin 1

Ncgo4 Verified Member Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Start # 2 tonight. A little less adrenalin and a bit more control and we'll al be singing for joy? What thinketh y'all?
Pitz Verified Member Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 Start # 2 tonight. A little less adrenalin and a bit more control and we'll al be singing for joy? What thinketh y'all?I hopeth so. Twins offensive offense against Keuchel doesn't sound too promising, so we may need an ace-ish performance from Berrios.
bluechipper Provisional Member Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 The Astros strike out a ton, and the Twins have a strikeout pitcher on the mound (possibly the first time I've ever typed that). I'm expecting a strong start from Berrios. Monkeypaws 1
FormerMinnasotan Provisional Member Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Good game #2 for Berrios. Not perfect, but even with still having a little bit of trouble with control, Berrios did what he had to. He'll get better with every start. For a 21 year old he has done well, I mean he has struck out 13 in 9 1/3 innings. The kid belongs, that is what is important right now.

Both HR's were decent pitches and just in a HR park, but were only solo shots, so who cares. He can strike people out! Wow, so weird seeing this from a starter. Honestly, I would have rather have a starter only give up 1-2 runs in 5 innings by striking guys out, than have a guy who can go 6 while giving up 3-5 runs by pitching to contact. He seemed less 'twitchy' as the game went on, but noticed from videos that he is always a Joe Nathon-esque in that sense, with the constant shoulder shrugging and jersey adjusting. Seems to have trouble with flying open and then the ball tails too far off the right- happened a lot early on and last start.
