I read somewhere that Sano has not taken much infield practice this year, and I doubt that Mauer has taken any outfield practice. Maybe they should have taken such practice and maybe they should start taking such practice, but in the meantime I would be reluctant to ask them to play a position that they have not played for a long time.

 

I would have put Park at 1B and given Mauer some rest against a lefty.  Or maybe Park could have played in LF?

This is the kind of stuff that someone with access should be asking Molitor.

There's a lot of things I wish someone with access would ask Molitor.  

 

In Kepler's 1st 8 days here or whatever, he started one game, against a lefty... why? 

 

Danny Santana was the worst hitter in baseball in 2015, why did he bat 2nd 3 times in the 1st week?

 

I could go on but it's too early in the week to get too worked up.

He's just not good at the in game stuff at all........that said, their AA manager also appears to love the sacrifice bunt....and we KNOW they won't go outside the organization.

As someone who was a huge fan of Molitor as a player, I actually feel bad for how over matched and incompetent he looks as a manager.

I was worried when we put Tonkin in yesterday.  Yes Ryan had just walked someone, but he was cruising.  I feel like thew switched allowed them to retake momentum.  I think that was an unnecessary pitching change and it ended up leading to a lose, whether Tonkin is responsible or not.

And Tonkin was brought in to face a lefty, which kinda had me scratching my head at the tiime.
