The Twins start does not leave much room for hope. Only the 1983 Astros have started as badly and finished with a winning record. They started 0-9 and were .500 by mid-season, ultimately finishing 85-77, good for third in the NL West.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 1983 Astros, interesting. Looking at B-Ref, it appears Nolan Ryan was injured, didn't appear until game 12 of that season. Might have been a factor?
gunnarthor Old-Timey Member Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 Honestly, that's one more than I would have thought.

stringer bell Verified Member Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Well, that's about just right. I predicted the Twins would win 85 games and there is a team in history that has done that. I also predicted 85 wins would win the parity-driven AL Central. No so sure about that.
