Yeah, I also wouldn't be crushed if the Twins decide to try to retain Liriano. I lean toward trading him but both sides have their points.

I'd much rather have Liriano for whatever we end up paying him than whatever FA(s) we decide to pursue. I'll take his bad for his good over Blackburn's good and bad.

And like clock work I start to regret my statement...

What happened to Bert? I miss him.

He's now a part time type colour guy.

Bert used the color analyst job to help promote his cause to get into the HOF. Now that he is there....can make xtra money as a HOFer....he doesnt need to do the tv job anymore. Bet he does 1 more yr & retires from it.

Last year I thought that Bert was kind of "losing it" -- mixing up names, forgetting things, etc. -- as though age was catching up with him.

I really thought he needed to cut back. And he seems a little better to me this season.

He should go out in a blaze of swearing glory.

Wow hell of an effort by Revere.

That might have been the play of the year if he catches it.

little Willy is back in the form he started the season.

His and Griffins relationship is identical to Rick Vaughn and Haywood

Funny. I thought last year was his best year. Of course there are things that pissed me off like the Slowey thing and the bunting for hits thing, but that is just Bert.

I feel very statfreak-esc. How many posts in a row can I get to? I didn't quote myself in any though so maybe I should.

I'm pretty sure Stat proclaimed a season over after a May 17ish loss. It was one of his greatest posts ever. Especially since he wrote it: Season. Over.

Was that 2008 or 2009?

I think it was 2009 because they made the playoffs. Only reason I think that is because I remember it being hilarious watching him jump on and off the bandwagon multiple times. I could be off though.

He's not alone. I remember saying that our collapse in Oakland where Cuddyer got thrown out at home on a WP would be a season ender and we still came back to force 163.

Wow, tough break for Plouffe. He stung the **** out of that ball.

Tough break for Liriano and the Twins as well.

I remember that game. The game threads back then were epic. The only reason the Twins ended up getting to the postseason was the collapse the Tigers. They ended the season 11-15. The Twins went 16-4 to force game 163.... then got swept in the playoffs.

I think it was 2009. I think he had also vowed to not post anymore if they made the playoffs but he didn't quite live up to that one.

No one seems interested in talking about tonight's game any more, and with good reason.

6-3 Oaktown. Our 7-9 batters due up. Unless it's a special night - this game is over.:(

My friend, Mr. Lounge. Have you been watching tonight's mess?

Liriano is about as close as the Twins will ever get to a #1 SP, so why trade him. It will take 20+M to buy one so that won't happen.
