spinowner Provisional Member Posted October 3, 2015 Posted October 3, 2015 I have to say that MLB's solution to a 3-way tie WC situation is absurd, and it is the result of the absurdity of having a second wild card. I don't hate it, I just think it's nutty. 162 games ... comes down to playing 163 and 164, then a one-game playoff????? BS.This has nothing to do with the second wild card. It wouldn't matter whether it's a 3-way tie for the second wild card or a 3-way tie for first place in a 15-team league with no divisions. Gotta break it somehow. ScrapTheNickname 1
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 Oh dear God, no! Perhaps a good, local Half Pints, Little Scrapper in honour of this team. The superfluous "U' in honor means that Canada takes a little bit long to write or type the word. This has led to a decline in Canadian productivity. Jerr and twinsnorth49 2

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted October 3, 2015 Author Posted October 3, 2015 There's a movement afoot in other markets to have those seats filled, even if not by the legal ticket holders. Giving them to kids and such. Tomorrow's Twins game is national so hopefully the Twins ticket office gets off their rears and makes sure those seats get used KIDS? Give them to me... Those little buggers just don't have enough money to afford a beer and a dog. Hosken Bombo Disco, twinsnorth49 and Jerr 3

Gotta break it somehow. The math on this is beyond me, but it would seem that on average there would be more teams bunched near the middle (mediocre records) than teams bunched at the top or at the bottom, therefore the second wild card will result in more ties or even three-way ties.
