jorgenswest Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 2-5 with a home run in first GCL rehab. I hope concussions have not closed the door on his major league career. He has worked too hard to get there.

Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Give him a week or 2 to shake the cobwebs and bring him up. Best choice the Twins have in that position this season.
Badsmerf Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 It's really too bad. He could have seriously helped this punchless lineup. I hope he can come back stronger than ever.
Lonestar Verified Member Posted August 12, 2015 Posted August 12, 2015 Have the Twins said whether he will resume catching?
jorgenswest Verified Member Posted August 13, 2015 Author Posted August 13, 2015 On Inside Twins, I believe Rob Antony implied he would be at DH as he recovers this year.

I strongly advocate for using Plouffe as trade bait for an elite, almost ready catcher. Given that these are few and far between I think we have to accept the possibility that the Twins just can't pull off that type of trade. If that is the case, I really hope they just install him behind the plate next year and see what happens (assuming he is healthy). His defense can't be much worse than Suzuki at this point with much better potential with the bat.
DRizzo Verified Member Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Looks like he got activated from the Minor League DL and got assigned to Fort Meyers yesterday. Does anyone think he can still play behind the plate? http://m.twins.mlb.com/news/article/143712588 (Link courtesy of MLB, credit Rhett Bollinger)

Though I hope no decisions are run through Perkins at this point. With the extreme catching woes this team currently has, he really should be given another chance should his health permit it, even if previously the team had silently taken that option off of the table.
