I only had three. I did well for myself.

You should get a 6 pack of tall boys ready for tonight.

Why bring in Perkins when the Twins have a big lead? They might need Perkins if the nightcap is close.

Missed game one and just now looking at the box. Noticed just what you mention. Why waste Perkins in a 5-run game? Am I missing something or is this just stupid as heck?

It seemed stupid to me.

Good to see them hit around a lousy pitcher like they should.

More quality out of Diamond, I may become a full convert yet.

Perkins, wtf?

They got Perk up when Diamond was struggling in the eighth, when the lead was only four and there were two on base with one out. I'm guessing they decided, as long as he was already warmed up, better to just use him rather than warm up someone else. In any case, he only threw a handful of pitches, so he is probably avaiable in the evening game as well, if necessary.

Let's take a moment to savor the fact that the Twins are playing a day/night doubleheader and Gardenhire did not use Butera to start either game.

Fortunately the Twins have no Latinos in the bullpen which keeps Gardy from contemplating a mid game catcher switch.

Heard Gardy on the pregame for the first game - he's saving Butera for tomorrow for Liriano.

Actually, I was quoting the movie "Major League," the Indians fan in the stand when Wild Thing gave off a mammoth blast.

Oh, hah. I wasn't responding to you... I hadn't read your message until after I posted that message. De Vries was throwing stuff belt high so I made that comment.

A stat just popped up on mlb gamecast that Cole holds hitters to a .160 average through his first 45 pitches, but gives up a .368 average after that. Hopefully that trend doesn't continue today.

Parmalee finally hits one out. Must be somewhat of a relief for him.

Now he needs only 572 more to tie Harmon's total.

Nice work by Mauer there. It would be good to get to the Royals' bullpen early and wear them out so they have no one for tomorrow.

Mauer Power! Hey, do you think that phrase will catch on?

It's catchy. But it might help if he got more homers.

DeVries is not a premium pitcher, but he seems to have better stuff at this point than Blackburn, and it would seem appropriate to let him fill a starter slot to see what he can accomplish.
