jimmer Verified Member Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 Okay, who is it?Tulo is my favorite current MLB baseball player, period. He is followed by a couple former Twins. I love the Twins as a whole, but right now, the only Twin in my top 10 of favorite MLB players is Dozier.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 A couple of days ago I said that my favorite non-Twin is Morneau, but as he's currently DL'd and I want him to retire before he kills himself, I decided to give this topic some more serious thought and settled with Brandon Phillips. He's a guy you just can't help but love, really, and he's the Prince of Swag. (Though Andrew McCutchen is definitely an honorable mention.) http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2/4/0/132984240/062515_cin_pit_phillips_hr_med_in8japcz.gif
gil4 Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Andrelton Simmons. I'm never disappointed watching him defensively, if even for a single game. Every game, he makes a play look routine that at least 25 other shortstops in the league couldn't even attempt because they can't even get to the ball, let alone have the cannon Simmons does to get it across the diamond.Good choice. I like him because of a local connection - he went to Western Oklahoma State College, which is about a 10 minute walk from my house. I will add that I'm not particularly happy with WOSC right now, although it's probably more my son's fault. Their reputation is local players aren't welcome, so my son is going half-way across the state because he wanted nothing to do with them. I'm sure some of it is he wanted to get out of the house, but I might only see him play when he has a road game a 10 minute walk from my house.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Amusing list of choices. I'm going with Greg Maddux, followed by Barry Bonds.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Zack Greinke. Great baseball name and very good pitcher.

Then you chose Phillips.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 Mats Zuccarello. He plays with a ton of heart and despite his small size, ain't afraid to mix it up in the corners. Oh. He's a hockey player. Never mind, I guess.

formerly33 Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 What is wrong with BP? Apparently Phillips holds a personal, one-man vote for All Star Swag team. 2nd base? That's a no-brainer: "Myself," Phillips says, in a fashion that suggests this is like questioning whether Mariano Rivera is the greatest closer of all time. The answer is self-evident. "Do I think I'm a showboat?" he asks at one point. "No. I'm an entertainer." (Read more here.)

jimmer Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 What is wrong with BP?Nothing at all. Just not someone that pops into my mind when considering my favorite ball players. Everyone has their favorites. Lots of people like Phillips.
jimmer Verified Member Posted June 28, 2015 Posted June 28, 2015 My top 10 favorite MLB players: Tulo, Morneau, Span, Dozier, McCutchen, Trout, Simmons, Arenado, Stanton, Pujols
Sarah Verified Member Posted July 3, 2015 Posted July 3, 2015 A.J. Pierzynski. Haha, just kidding. Good choices on this list- I am also a fan of Rizzo. I am sad to hear that Aramis Ramirez is retiring after this year, he's been a solid third baseman for a long time.
Grizz_09 Provisional Member Posted July 4, 2015 Posted July 4, 2015 I love watching Chris Sale. Dominates everyone besides the Twins
