Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Mauer fan, too, but Molly needs to try that. Maybe 5th or 6th. Who would bat 3rd then? With the way 7, 8, and 9 are hitting, it's like he is hitting 5th.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Mauer fan, too, but Molly needs to try that. Maybe 5th or 6th. Who would bat 3rd then?Honest answer....don't know. Perhaps the Twins don't have one. All I know is, serious major league teams don't put guys with back to back sub-.400 SLG seasons in the three hole, and Mauer's on his way to just that.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 Thanks all! I think the Red Sox are still uncomfortable with that 1 run lead, but i guess it is in the books, so live with it they must.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Hats off to Buchholz. He was great tonight. This is a great win for our Boyz. The Twins just know how to win right now and it is not by accident. Ehh, Bucholz wasn't great tonight, he got helped a lot by his defense. Battled though and the Red Sox announcers said that he didn't have his best stuff either.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 To be fair, he has the 2nd highest OBP on the team among qualifers.(second to Trevor) (no, not May)Which seems to be an OK number for a #2 hitter.
curt1965 Verified Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 I think the difference this year is......... Neil Allen! Starting pitching has been phenomenal!

Sure he wasn't perfect, but I'd take it any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Circus Boy Verified Member Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Fell asleep on the couch in the 7th inning, so missed all the fireworks of the last two innings. (Exhausted, too, from having to learn the lyrics to "Good, Bad and Ugly.") Great to read everyone's comments. Yes, it does seem unbelievable. Now, sweep these overpaid East Coast nancy boys. Go Twins!
