I like how Vargas was asked to take 1st base in the 9th inning when it starts to downpour.

Reminds me of when I took part in Junior High football, and one time we played the entire game in a thunderstorm.  Everyone was filthy except for like two or three of us (myself included) who never got in the game.  And after the game our coach told the ones who didn't play "I won't accept this ****.  Get out there right now and do some belly sliding!"

Our high school championship game was such a mud bowl, we couldn't tell our players from theirs.

The lack of response to this is all the proof I need that this is a slow Game Thread. :)

I think people are just moving faster than me.

And after all this time, i still refuse to admit i'm slow.

It started to downpour here a few minutes ago. My dog and I bolted for the door...I wasn't wearing my knee brace...the chuckling from the neighbors was sobering.

This one may be my fault. I arrived right about when Duensing began. It was 3-1 at the time. I don't know what I did to jinx them into 10-1 (and counting).

Does Mauer get the ball that got past Vargas? I think so. It let the Rays get an insurance run, there. Makes it 11-1. CBU.

My kid's team was so bad that they were in danger of being sent down to a low level league. Them winning it all yesterday is akin to the Browns winning the Super Bowl. Too bad she couldn't stay a while. Those girls are the toast of Italy right now.

I guess speed is important from time to time. But it's usually more important to get there.

Hey everybody. I think it would be a good day to get Graham his first win!

I was a little toasted in Italy last night.

The comeback is on!

Two grand slams, but then we'll still need a two-run shot. See how insurance runs work? Changes the strategy totally.

It looked a lot like that.
