What we know, TR doesn't

I'll repost something from the game thread here:

 

I'm pretty sure TR knows more than me, but it's clear that Dave Dombrowski knows a helluva lot more about getting value OFs than Ryan the last few years.  For all the nonsense about there being no options out there to fix our OF the Tigers just beat the bejesus out of us with a minor league deal signee in RF and a guy in CF that we could have had for the equivalent of Kepler or Harrison.

 

And that's just two of many other guys that might have been on the market.  We have deliberately ignored CF for the sake of Hicks and it has been a colossal disaster, it's time to just accept that.

ESPN's  Dave Schoenfeld did a comparative analysis of all of the teams who started out either 3-0 or 0-3 and what, if any significance that might have on their 2015 season results, his general conclusion-  "Don't sweat it yet, if you're team is off to a slow start-   EXCEPT-   the Twins did not fare so well in his summation-    and this is probably just the start of the in-season drubbing that the Twins are going to be taking from the national scribes as they one-up each other in bringing up one horrific example of utter futility after another:

 

 

 

 

The Tigers crushed the Twins in their three-game series, outscoring them 22-1 while hitting .343 and drawing 15 walks and striking out just 11 times.  It says something about the Tigers, of course, but I wonder if it says more about the Twins. Kyle Gibson gave up eight hits and six runs in 3.1 innings in Thursday's 7-1 loss -- and walked five with no strikeouts. Just a terrible outing; only three starters had such a game last season (Trevor May, Jeff Locke and Nick Martinez).   If I'm a Twins fans, maybe I do start worrying already (not that expectations were high).
