Thanks to all for participating!

And thanks for running the contest and doing all the post-regular season 'figgering!'

A couple things:

1.  Two years of this contest should be enough to prove picking O/U's is a lot tougher than it looks at first glance.

2.  Scoring this thing really IS a PITA.

3.  Next year's contest will be announced sometime around March 1st.  Probably.  If I still having posting privileges at TD.

Scoring can be made easier using an Excel spreadsheet, if that helps. For future reference.

A what?

An Excel spreadsheet. It's a thingy-dealie sort of whatchamacallit that can quickly summarize results using various functions that compare over/under predictions against a known result. You know, a thingy-dealie kinda sorta tool.

They probably did not have Excel when you were in school -  you can do more with spreadsheets on Excel than the stone (or animal skin) format spreadsheets you used:

So, a tool figures out the winner.

I thought that's what we already had.

I think you forgot this is Chief. He still considers the abacus newfangled.

Sure.  Come in here and rub our noses in it.

Nobody likes a sore winner.

Yep. I make it a point to not mention my winning last year's edition. People just feel too intimidated by my deep knowledge of the game, when I forget and bring it up.

Just want to thank Chief one more time for hosting. Thanks Chief! Oh and the prize, holy crap folks. Remember those old Mastercard commercials? "Priceless" doesn't do this thing justice.

The line was for 2441 wins but there are 2430 games, so under bets are slightly favored. I'll look at that next season when I make my picks. (I didn't participate this year because I was not a member until after the 2015 season was already underway.)

An interesting wrinkle would be to score each ballot by wins relative to the line. For example, someone picking the over for Arizona would have scored +7.5 points and someone picking the under would have scored -7.5 points. That would reward very good picks and penalize very bad ones. Of course, to efficiently score the entries you'd probably have to know how to use one of those computer thingies, which rules me out as scorer. That's why I'm stopping short of actually suggesting that this should be incorporated into the contest.

Next time you should listen to your baby sister when she suggests you might like a place, for the last few years ... she knows you better than you think! ;)

Is that my baby sister 4 posts up?

That was meant to be me. Pink's always been a flattering color for my complexion.
