Brief Article On Sano at Baseball America

It's behind their paywall, but the most important thing discussed to me is there is no plan to move him off third base like people were freaking out about a while back.

Also mentioned is that he will have to re-establish himself in the minors, likely at Chattanooga to start, and won't be ready to make the major league team out of Spring Training. (that's a direct paraphrase of Terry Ryan).

What was the source on Sano staying at 3B? People were talking about Sano to OF because Terry Ryan said it was a possibility.

All that information is paraphrasing of Terry Ryan, the direct partial quote is:

"...we’re not moving him,” Ryan said. “He’s a third baseman..."

Good to know. And, no one should be surprised he will start in AA next year. This org is conservative in nature, of course they expect him to re-establish himself. I think even less conservative teams would do that.

I'm glad the plan at this time is to start in Chattanooga.  After getting pulled from winterball, I had the idea that for some reason he may not be ready to start the season and would end up at extended spring training.

Also glad he's staying at 3B.  He needs to play there until he proves he can't.

Everyone took JR's comment so far from what it was.

He meant in a scenario like Danny Santana, where the current SS is doing a pretty darn good job, he could play some RF/LF for the short term, just to get him to the big leagues.

Yup.  TR basically reiterated that in this article as well. "His bat is what will get him to the majors."

The best of the prospects don't need AAA ball anyway.  It will be warmer in Chattanooga to start the season, too.
