sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 For the team? or fans? Yes. Though in theory, being professionals, baseball players have character... Glad to see Johnson only give up 1 run in the second.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Dozier had 12 steals on May 11. So ... in the last two months (doing the math) he has had 4 steals. That's 2 a month, an average 12 for an entire year. What happened? What happened?
curt1965 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Wish the Twins hit those kinds of pop-ups, Dick!
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Cuddyer reminds me of David Justice, who would make an awkward, non-athlete play in the field or on the basepaths at least once a year that would result in missed time. But even Cuddyer's weird calamities will never top Moises Alou's mega-awesome "I was standing in the outfield, and I heard something pop" injury.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm going to go walk the dog. Wait another inning. If past performance is any indicator, Johnson will probably get around to walking your dog too pretty soon.
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm going to go walk the dog. But you'll miss the final chapter of Kris Johnson:Major Leaguer.

If past performance is any indicator, Johnson will probably get around to walking your dog too pretty soon. To his credit, Johnson hasn't issued any walks yet. He's been relying on his defense. Alas, Molitor can't shift a player into the stands... I'm going to go walk the dog. At least the dog will enjoy the game!
70charger Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 That looked really bad. I'd hate to see Suzuki go down. We don't exactly have much depth here.
snepp Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 So are there any more 30 year old rookies to pull up? I'm sure they can dig up a couple.

Alas, Molitor can't shift a player into the stands...Yeah, went with 'past performance' to make the bit work, but happy to see him lay off the six walks thing. Tonight Johnson looks more like a guy who's better off mixing in a ball or two.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I thought the Rockies sucked.I thought we didn't....
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 So are there any more 30 year old rookies to pull up? Depends on whether it matters that they play the position they're going to for the Twins...
snepp Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I thought we didn't.... Joke's on you.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Nunez recovered nicely on that slicing line drive
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 I'm sure they can dig up a couple. Shovel-ready prospects increasingly hard to find in the Twins system... http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2009/08/29/article-1209831-0636EDBA000005DC-917_634x463.jpg
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Depends on whether it matters that they play the position they're going to for the Twins...You know darn well that as long as they are a short stop, they can play anywhere on the field
70charger Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Well Deduno's looking pretty dang good this inning. That curveball is on.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Well Deduno's looking pretty dang good this inning. That curveball is on. Starting to think maybe Deduno might be the second coming of LaTroy Hawkins, who would look brilliant here and there as a starter, and dreadful other times. Tulo is one of the best hitters in baseball, and lucky not to have dislocated something on that swinging K.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Somewhere in Ohio, a sports fan is blogging that the LeBron signing inspired the Indians' rally over the ChiSox.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Joke's on you. Yeah, not the first time. As long as it washes off...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Just in case, can somebody get Deduno a hat for his bat? http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/qBWUIYbIZfA/hqdefault.jpg Nice job by Escobar to keep the AB alive, even without the hit result. It will be interesting to see how the Twins end up in terms of hitters' pitches per PA, and how that compares to other teams without much power.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Fuld is a piranha. Pending a headfirst slide into the team bus, this looks like a yes.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Twin's Baseball is about to break out.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Twin's Baseball is about to break out. CDC alerted, and vaccine production is ramping up as we speak.
70charger Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 That's why Tulowitzki's among the best in the game. Oh, and that home run too. With due apologies to Escobar, I wish he was on our team.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Holy crap. That's a play that keeps a shortstop who OPS's what Tulo slugs on the roster.
