ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 What we lack in speed we make up for in slugging. Obvs. Deceptive speed. We're slower than we look.
Gibby Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 How was Baku? Seems like it'd be a different world (though Turkey was one my very favorites and it's a different world too.) Is this indoor volleyball or beach? Indoor. Baku is ok. It's really expensive. There is a definite division of wealth. I enjoyed the people, and they were pretty curious about me. It feels like a culture with growing pains, and experiences some of the awkwardness that goes with it. She actually asked for and got her release from her Azerbaijani team, and is now with a team just outside of Venice. They are in second place with 2 matches left. She is guaranteed to make the playoffs for the first time in her career, so we are heading back out in a couple weeks.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Deceptive speed. We're slower than we look. Is it harder or easier to battle your tail off when it moves more slowly?
70charger Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I take this to mean that in your considered opinion the good gentleman has no alibi whatsoever? It took me a few minutes. But I got there.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Deceptive speed. We're slower than we look. Which is why I give Varva a pass.http://deephousepage.com/smilies/bubble.gif
Intramural Legend Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 There we go Mauer! *we in the you sense. I am just sitting on my couch...
tharasix Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Now Dozier and Mauer are getting it together!
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Dozier has raised his average 188 points this game.
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Indians announcers second guessing the decision to hold Dozier at third.

You can see the sadly ignored Byzantine and even Gothic Italy. If you're I to mosaics, I think Ravenna has the best of their kind in all of Italy. Also, Mauer!
ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Dozier has raised his average 188 points this game. What's he batting now?
tharasix Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 They're walking Willi to get to Cola?

We just got back from Australia and New Zealand, and she is already looking to plan our next big trip.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 What's he batting now? Dunno. I'll get back to you.
longstrangetrip Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Indians announcers second guessing the decision to hold Dozier at third. I hate to whine so much about Vavra, but I agree with them. Strikeout hitter on deck, and like they said, it would have taken two perfect throws to get him. I'm concerned about Vavra's judgment.

You have to believe Gardy wasn't to happy with him

I'm guessing that decision was self-reflective over-correcting… and perhaps responsive to an earlier chat with the manager.
tharasix Provisional Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 That's the Twins I know and love. Leaving the bases juiced and walking away with nothing.

I have an Aussie friend that wants to go with me, which would be awesome.

A free weekend in Melbourne during a business trip was nowhere near enough to say I've really been there. Loved the experience.
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Was Carlos Santana named for the musician, anybody?

ashbury Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 B-r.com lists Santana as 210 pounds. Perhaps at birth.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Another AAAPlouffe brain cramp. Of maybe that's just a dim light.
