    I am glad they made the trades to blow it up. I had not enjoyed watching this team much their past couple hundred games. Soulless baseball is a new term to me but I think you are spot on. There has been a lot of debate on the returns of these trades but I am glad they made them all. There needs to be new energy and accountability on this team. It had to start with moving Correa and his contract. He was not going to be of any value to the Twins this year or next as they change direction. There would be two years left on his contract when the Twins may be trying to contend plus some vesting options. To get out from under that was the best move they made at the deadline. You are correct to not credit the front office for moving the contract since they are the ones that created this mess.

    I don't think they want to start the arbitration clock on real prospects in a lost season.

    The worst part in my mind was walking Ruiz with 4 of 5 non-competitive pitches. They weren't even close. Mostly breaking balls to the Dodger's pinch runner. He is their Keirsey and we walked him with 4 clear balls. Why we did not go right after him and make him beat us was very frustrating

    I didn't think Baldelli managed this series like he knew he had to win it. Why open with Paddack? Everyone fully rested he would have been my last choice. In fact I was hoping they would move him back to the bullpen and insert Ober back in rotation. Then in the Saturday game he went to the back of the bullpen for the last two innings in a game we had to win. A three run lead is not that safe in Coors. I was thinking Jax and Duran. Instead Rocco saved them for Sunday when they were not likely needed with Ryan pitching. On the hitting side did we really need to rest bats on Sunday. We just had the All-star break and played 2 games. If Rocco knew how important that series was he sure did not manage like it.

    The only risk in this deal that I see is if Headrick turns out to be a useful pitcher

    They are closer to going the other way. Move Jax to the rotation and add relief pitching. Try to win with pitching and defense.

    Does Kiriloff have another option left? If he does swap Wallner for Kiriloff. I think Austin Martin will be optioned when Buxton is activated

    That was a very fun game and format. My only disappointment was how few fans stayed to watch. If I would have skipped a game today it would have been the regular spring training game. Way more enthusiasm by both teams in the prospect game. They used the robo umps for the prospect game and I can't wait for it to hit the major leagues.
