  1. Hello? You know I can hear you from in here
  2. That doesn't surprise me at all, but aren't you just hindering my attempt to portray him as an Everyman?
  3. My pipeline has many valves and the flow can be restricted or augmented at many places along the line.
  4. Interesting to see how close Kep is to Dozier in so many statistics. Puts him in better perspective for me. Kepler did it in 3930 plate appearances while Dozier had 4232 with the Twins.
  5. When the Twins got Ryan he was throwing 4 seam fastballs 60% of the time and now that number is in the 40's. They have had him try multiple pitches, he didn't even have the splitter when they got him. Developmental success. He was a 20 year old rushed into AA that was so ready he wasn't even used in the Olympics. Yes it's been fits and starts, but development nonetheless. This is a creative way to keep the pitching pipeline definition in line with your desires. Bottom line the vaunted Cleveland pitching pipeline is littered with pitchers acquired in many ways. They did identify, acquire and develop them which fits my definition.
  6. Platoon split pinch hitting has been done since before the computer was invented. Baldelli is a baseball lifer with a highschool education, not some Ivy League nerd. That doesn't mean I always agree with him. I would not pinch hit for a hot bat like Larnach, especially with an ice cold one like Margot.
  7. As mentioned by others it doesn't matter how the player was acquired, if the team even just put the finishing touches on his development, they get credit for that in my book. My criteria? Am I enjoying watching Twins pitchers perform now more than I did during Terry Ryan's tenure? Absolutely. Edit: ninja'd by JDubs who said it better
  8. Margot Taylor Ruth 42 56 206 (career) Just curious. Sure in spite of his flaws I liked MAT last year. The problem is they didn't want to wait him out during free agency when he was still looking for more money and maybe 2 years. We can't go back.
  9. This is a good point all the knee-jerk anti-Rocco pitchfork crowd should consider (sorry to link you with this inflammatory sentence bighat,😂, my bad). For all we know Rocco was opposed to Margot's addition to the roster. Hopefully if Margot's performance doesn't improve they release him. It is early though and Rocco has to play him at some point now. Is there a better option than trying to give him the most favorable matchups possible by hitting him against leftys? Edit: I would not be pinch hitting for any batter that is rolling like Larnach is right now, ever.
  10. Careful what you wish for: .221 .274 .256 .529 OPS 56 OPS+ .256 slugging? Yikes power was the calling card of his strikeout prone bat last year
  11. I'm feeling like this might not be our night
  12. **** Cory that was almost a Bremergasim
