  1. Gibby must have read this so far he's 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored plus some solid pitching. I'll never understand trading a good young starting pitcher. Those you hang on to. For a "prospect"? Good luck. They definitely put in the time with Gibby I think the best return will be a few more years Like this one
  2. Like the optimism. The staff is stacked in comparison to what we've witnessed.
  3. For me having a flat 20m+ loss is just bad business. Time for everybody to move on and in the the process addressing an organizational weakness? I can see the logic.
  4. I still don't like the move. Wouldn't happen with the current FO. They already had him for a couple super cheap years, yes if he was good it would cost more to sign him. That is why it was a cheap move for fear of a high salary but your cheapness allowing you to risk hamstringing you team down the road. These were the kind of moves that got under my skin.
  5. Phil Hughes has my respect as does the FO for making this move.
  6. As per above I am firmly in this camp. That was a bad move when May went to the pen when he did. I was not happy at the time. Big Pelf should have been let go. The Twins had a promising thing going with May and screwed it up. Their handling of him did his development no favors. Plus his body clearly responds better to a starter's routine. Here we are again. Another bad contract, Hughes, two flagging vets owed a huge, obscene pile of cash costing us wins. What something around 36m? What will happen...? This is a tough situation made by multiple bad decisions. The Lynn signing was a move I approved of. The Hughes extension and the handling of May are two things I would never have done. The one thing in the Twins favor is that May has options. On top of that he is not far enough removed from TJ that you can count on him yet. He needs time to get his feel, heck he needed time for that before the surgery. I say keep Hughes where he is for now. I would love to swap May and Lynn but this is the tough part. If Lynn could be moved that would be fantastic. If not we signed what 5 new pitchers? If one flopped and had to be dumped that's not too bad. JUST DO IT!!! Then let may compete with Gonsalves, Mejia and Slegers etc for the #5 (#6 if Santana is ready and no-one gets hurt.
  7. This is why you want rotation depth. At last one guy is either going to struggle or get hurt. A good team takes no prisoners. Send Lynn down next guy up
  8. The time to bring up Gordon was when Sano went down. Probably too late now although what the heck is going on with Sano anyway? Last quote I saw from Molitor said he was running a drill but without much effort.? This guy has a chance for huge amounts of cash but seems clueless. Getting hard to root for the guy. I thought the homerun derby when he was clearly out done by the big damn Yankee would send a humbling message and light a fire but I guess not. He acts like he can sleepwalk through the twins portion of his career then just sign a big deal in N.Y. At this rate they might not want him
  9. Berrios, Odorizzi, Gibson, Romero and May not necessarily in that order. Then you've got Mejia and Gonsalves. This is your Minnesota Twins starting pitching depth for '19. This is such a change I like it allot. I predict May as a valuable starter moving forward.
  10. I'm not going to look it up but his stats in AAA weren't that great this year so again i was surprised he was called up this early.
  11. May is not going to come back rotation ready. Getting His feel back will take time especially considering he was just getting it figured out when he got hurt.
  12. What held up his promotion were elbow and knee surgery back to back not the twins. His coming up when he did was surprisingly fast IMO especially in light of the twins track record.
  13. I'm glad were seeing some changes to the way they do things such as a relatively quick hook out of the rotation for Hughes. That being said the guy is owed a ridiculous amount of money and if they actually did the right thing and cut bait i would be shocked, but super happy. Maybe then Molitor would have another option out of the pen, because yes the way he is riding Pressly is not sustainable. I do understand with the horrible losing how hard it would be not to ride the hot hand when you have a chance at a W
  14. Really like these new reports. I do have a suggestion for the top twenty. Add cumulative stats for the year so you can see what they did for the day and be reminded of where they sit overall.
  15. I tried checking and came up with 1995, but I don't think it's right. I guess I'm kind of geeky but in a more analog way. Went from mobile word to an email to my pc laptop and standard word...i freaking give up
  16. Gotta win about 14 against these guys. The way they looked last night I could see it happening. TheChiSox will probably be a better team at the end of the year than they are right now
  17. also being a Duluthian we do have another week of snow in the forecast
  18. "Not sure if that’s permissible according to the Baseball Code, mostly because the players refuse to write down their rules, but if Dozier’s doing it, I think it’s safe to say we’re in the clear" This is hilarious!
  19. I can see Dozier really proving it this year. He's proven he doesn't wear down and with three homers maybe he's not always going to start slow. Cha ching. One note. If your going to always quote baseball's unwritten rules of yore you might want to consider context. Maybe it's ok to bunt in a situation like the other night if the team your facing is deploying a massive shift
  20. Well here we go again. Guess I'm a Gibroni all over again. I've been waiting for Gibby's talent to take over for years. Every year I'm all in. I do think it's been the mental aspect all along, which seasoning could improve. Personally I give credit to the new front office. Many eyebrows were raised when he was sent down last year. Just might have been the kind of strong message he needed.
  21. Maybe they can give Lance a gold star so he doesn't feel bad being the fourth man up.
