    Good to see that "Minnesota Nice" is still alive and well.

    That wasn't meant as an indictment of the Twins talent or farm system. Rather, this time of year, most teams are in the same position as the Twins roster space wise. I guarantee you, that if another team/s were allowed to pluck at will, we would see a fair number of players taken. So, yes as to the original post I commented on, I DO think there are at least 5 MLs that other teams would love to have in their system. Just as the Twins would love to have players from other's systems that we as fans may not know much about. The biggest constraint for teams though is simply not having the room inside of their own 40 man and thus it allows a FO to take a (usually safe) gamble and leave certain players off the 40 man.

    Except that most other teams are in similar positions roster wise as the Twins. Not saying that there won't be a single player taken in the V, but it will probably not be the bloodletting predicted by some .

    In short, I would say one reason... control. Sisk has pretty good stuff, but control seems to have always been an uphill battle for him. The couple of times I caught an appearance of his on MiLB, he looked good, but he seemed like he falls into the "effectively wild" category. Not that he couldn't fine tune whatever mechanical issues lead to this, but until he shows an extended period without lots of walks, he probably won't be getting the call.

    Yes Sir... great recall . Sounds like that was a great trip, and a pretty cool experience to geek out about.

    I ran into Coach Smith (The Elder), two years ago I believe, at a showcase my son was attending. I was wearing a Twins shirt and we struck up a conversation about the Twins and his son. He was super bummed when the Twins moved on from the Pensacola Wahoos, as it was just a short trip form him to go and see them play and spend time with his son. Pretty good guy.

    Doesn't seem like too bad of an option. Perhaps add in another option to opt out after between 3 - 5 years to sweeten the deal?

    Very cool that your son played college ball. Must have been some pretty great memories. Our oldest is just finding out that we weren't kidding when we told him about how difficult it can be to balance academics, school life and college ball (and on a side note, fall ball went well so Coach told him he should see some innings out of the bullpen as a Freshman this year ). Also, thanks as always Seth. Love these spot lights on some pretty amazing young men.

    Thanks for the write up Sherry, appreciate the work. Big fan of what Raya brings to the game, love his pure stuff. Also really interested in what Festa will do next year as I thought he really shoved this year . I'm with Lew on the picture though. Jet Blue is an awesome stadium and complex (my son has played a lot of games there), but shouldn't we show an even better looking complex? .

    See... much better . Can't say I 100% agree with the age thing, but that is a much better case for it.

    Would you perhaps be willing to shed more light on this take beyond the Most of these guys are too "old" to be an 'Ace' track? (Apologies if I took too many liberties with the paraphrasing). Each one of the above players has fantastic "stuff", that can... and has played up at the highest levels. Now this does not mean that I am endorsing a future Cy Young for even one of them, but I am curious if there is anything you believe holds them back beyond just their number of years?

    In a word... disappointing. Then again, given the complete lack of any type of moral compass from the League, I am not all that surprised.

    He had Tommy John, not shoulder surgery (that was Stashak with the bum shoulder).

    It's an interesting take Ted, and one that I don't necessarily disagree with. Had multiple discussions this last year with my son (he's a college pitcher) about this very thing and we were of the opinion that "something" just wasn't right. His "stuff" is great, the results... often not so much. I would think that it wouldn't hurt to keep him in the fold (for now) and see if the end of the year tweaks can carry over. I for one, wish him and the Twins the best of luck in this endeavor. Baseball is tough even in the best of times, and I will not pile on a player's struggles simply just because I can.

    Ok, buuuuut..... he literally just turned 20 less than two months ago and this year was his professional debut. Perhaps we can let him actually take a few more turns on the bump before we claim Manifest Destiny??
