A train wreck in NY. The Yankees shredded the Twins in the game. Harold Reynolds and the boys shredded the Twins in the postgame. I hope the Twins can figure out how to come back and win this series and shut the Yankee-loving talking heads big yaps.

I grew up in New Mexico, way before Mitch, ha ha. Great place to play baseball. Ray Birmingham is the man. I picked Garver to be the All-Star catcher this year and he should have been. Nice season Mitch. Now to take it to the Yankees. Go Chargers. Go Lobos. Go Twins.

Buying In On Twins Pitching Prospects
AceWrigley commented on Ted Schwerzler 's blog entry in Off The Baggy
You could say it was kind of like swapping Eduardo Escobar for Marwin Gonzalez who is the 2nd best comp for similar batters (career wise) to Eddie on BB Ref, plus some decent prospects. We'll have to wait and see how the young guys pan out.- 4 comments

If I'm the Twins, I'm discussing this with the League Office. If Rocco can detect that Odo is warming up a little weird and pulls him for precautionary reasons, how is it the Giants staff didn't have any idea Dyson was pitching for weeks with discomfort? I'm not buying it. I want compensation.

Can Graterol or Thorpe start or are they not stretched out enough at this point?

Perez just got yanked after 2.1 innings (52 pitches) letting in 5 runs after the Twins took a 6-0 lead in the first.

With the way Gibson and Perez are pitching, maybe starting both Dobnak and Smeltzer in their place is a good idea. We are giving up huge leads left and right lately; not a great strategy in trying to win baseball games.

I stand corrected Sir. Bombas they are, and Bombas they will be. May it rain Twin's Bombas all over the faithful Target Field outfield patrons. I wonder, if it just clears the fence is it a Bombacita? And an inside the park job, is it a Bomba en la casa or does it not even acquire Bomba status?

I have to admit that it sure would be sweet if we finished the season with 1 more homer than the Yankees.

Gibson is FUBAR. Nice power display and some good defense. I don't see how they scored Sano's hit to CF that was not a difficult play, hit the CF'r squarely in the glove and drops it . . . for a double. What? It must have made a klank sound hitting the glove and they thought it was off the wall. Nice job by Thorpe for the win. Rogers lights out in the ninth, again. The Indians win tonite to finish off their games vs the Tigers, going 18-1. Sheez, thanks Gardy.

I thought in Minnesota everything hockey just short of Lou Nanne's career NHL highlight reel takes precedent over all.

What a wacky game. Give up 20 hits and win. LaMarre shushes the nattering nabobs of negativism with 2 hits, one a dinger. Torreyes gets plunked for a game winning RBI, and the guy who pitches worst gets the win. We now have 5 guys with 30 bombas! Duffey and Romo ... K machines.

I liked the camaraderie on the field after the game. No big celebration but guys just hangin' and enjoying the win. Polanco and Arraez ... Sano and Gonzo... looked like family (send in the memes).

Front Page: Who is the Twins Team MVP?
AceWrigley replied to Andrew Thares's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If the season ended now I think I would choose Nelson Cruz. I'm not in the clubhouse but if I had to guess I think he's the straw that stirs the drink. He's been a monster with the bat and has been unfazed dealing with pennant pressure and injury and it positively affects everyone else. The man comes to play. Probably some "he's the new guy and we didn't play this well before" bias here. Maybe pull a "Chili Davis" (free agent signed to play DH in 1991 and have a huge year) and Twins go to the World Series. Miguel Sano for MLB Comeback Player of the Year.- 51 replies

Realistically, we have a bunch of guys who can't play, and whether it's Alejandro De Aza, Ramon Flores or Ryan LaMarre being called upon to take major league at bats; it's a crap shoot. I think Luke Raley might have been the most ready (since Jaylin Davis was traded), but he's another wounded warrior. We're in a tough spot, but the Twins have been pretty resilient this year. If Schoop is truly swinging a hot bat right now the cleanup spot might not be a bad idea. I'm looking for La Tortuga to pull some bat magic too. If prayers have any influence, we got your back guys.

Remember the Indians caught us earlier this year and things looked kinda bad then. From that perspective we have put ourselves 3.5 games up with 16 to play which looks pretty good. It's better than being 3.5 games behind. Unfortunately our health and availability problems have popped up at the end of the season where Cleveland went through their biggest problems earlier. We are in the driver seat. Now if we can just keep our foot on the gas. Go Twins.

I'm so wound up from this game I can't get to sleep. Being a Twins fan in Red Sox Nation just got a little sweeter. You would think that after watching Eddie throw out Devers at the plate a dozen times it would get old ... but it doesn't!! Kudos to Miguel Sano for getting himself back in shape and playing some pretty impressive defense. Also that catch by Cron is great to watch in slow motion. What a road trip. Go Twins.

Graterol on postgame interview: "My mentality in the bullpen... hey, throw hard, and strikes, and that's it. Win." No interpreter needed. Awesome. Good job kid.
