  1. One more thing it is hard to watch Molitor take out starters too soon. Berrios only had 60 pitches when he got pulled. It has to be tough knowing that anytime after the 5 inning for sure the 6 you have to finish perfect or you will be pulled. Odorizzi was pulled after 91 pitches after giving up a hit in the 7th. Gibson shut down after 6. Even Hughes let try getting out of the 4th and see if he can get you 5 or 6 before he gets to 100 pitches.
  2. I have to say it is sad that people are counting on May who hasn't pitched since 2016 and started a game since 2015 to come in and help anytime soon as a starter.
  3. I am usually the pessimist, so I will try to be the optimist today. The twins are 9 - 14 and the closer has three blown saves, if he only blows one the twins are 11-12. Lynn can't be this bad going forward, I have to assume this is his worst 4 games ever? At some point they Hughes will be gone. Sano, Buxton, Castro, Grossman and Morrison can't continue to hit at or under .213. And if they can get a little bit more out of the starters the bullpen will get straightened out. You can't continue to ask them to pitch a minimum 3 innings every night and most 4 to 5. And if these things don't happen, we should get to see Gonzo, Romero, Gordon and Wade this summer. I will add the front office loaded a team that seems unwilling or unable to take a walk. Buxton, Rosario and Sano have a combined 14, Sano should have more than that by himself.
  4. I would probably give you that except for the fact he has blown 3 saves out of 5. I also don't believe any 3B or SS make that play on Stanton with were they were playing (deep).
  5. I will give you the first one, but Stanton infield hit wasn't an out. and the next guy hit a homer, so it is a huge stretch to say he pitched well. Those saying the pitch was way inside, they are wrong it was straight and barely inside.
  6. I would choose Romero first, but why bring him up when the Twins aren't hitting. Mejia is hurt and only has pitched 9 innings, and Gonzo is pitching 5 innings at a time in AA. So by default that makes in Slegers
  7. For starters get an out, then give up less than two runs in one inning of work.
  8. Seems funny to say worry about Rodney, did anybody really think he was going to be good this year?
  9. Congrats Rodney you now have more blown saves then saves. Seems fitting since half the batters have more K's than hits.
  10. I was hoping he would come up and start to hit and make it hard for him not to be the starter, but the more I see him, the more I think he would be lucky to have Chris Gimenez career. (I hope I am wrong)
  11. Cobb hasn't been any better, might explain why nobody wanted to give either big money?
  12. Stan and Sanchez only need another home run and I am up $5.
  13. 91 pitches in 5 innings in AA might also be the issue? or 4 games and 20.1 innings. I really like Gonzo, but the big league club doesn't need another guy 5 inning guy right now.

    Machado

I would do that trade if we were giving time to negotiate and he signed. I would offer 8 for 250.
  15. Lets just say I have $5 with a friend saying that Judge, Didi, Stanton and Sanchez will be in the top 10 in the American league in homers after this series.
  16. The problem with the Twins offense is K rate Escobar 51 14 27.45% Adrianza 20 6 30.00% Rosario 61 12 19.67% Sano 61 30 49.18% Buxton 41 11 26.83% Castro 42 17 40.48% Garver 15 6 40.00% Grossman 33 14 42.42% Morrison 52 14 26.92% Dozier 71 12 16.90% Mauer 54 8 14.81% Those numbers are terrible. They only have 4 guys with an SLG % over .475, and 4 guys with an OBP over .316. Sano has a higher K rate then SLG. So far 5 Relief pitchers have pitched in half the games, they have to get more innings our of their starters.
  17. My real question is, if the Twins would have gotten to a world series with Prior, would that been enough to say Prior was the right pick? For me the answer to that is yes, but Mauer still has that chance, but that is what it would to change my mind. I would say the same about Teixeira if they would have gotten to the world series with him, it would have been a better pick.
  18. When talking about Mauer should the discussion also include pitches per appearance? Without looking up all the years he seems to be to in the top of even in his off years. In the current state of baseball getting pitch counts up is almost as important as scoring a run or two early in the game.
  19. Seth you are correct, my father in-law is really good friends with his dad and that is how he pronounces it. Of you course you have to throw in a little Louisianan/cajun slang into it.
  20. So getting on base last year .384 and starting the year at .462 isn't a force? Good to know
  21. I used $15 because that is the push for minimum wage.
  22. Lynn, Berrios, Gibson win 12+ games. Romero ends the season as the closer. Buxton top 5 MVP. Mauer hits over .300 Twins win 91 games. Morrison hits a homer off the top of the flag pole to win a game.
  23. So breaking the rules doesn't equal cheater? Interesting
  24. I agree with your logic, I disagree with your math. I am guessing with practice, games, traveling, meetings, workouts etc.. that a minor league puts in at least 60 hours. At 15/per hour, the first 40 hours would be 600. then the next 20 would be another 450, so 1050 a week * 4 = $4200 a month. Which I believe would double the current average on a whole, it is like 4 times rookie league salary and about $1500 more that AAA depending on service years. I would guess the twins have about 200-250 minor leaguers? So it would be closer to 2.5-3.0 million and that is just me guessing. Of course most teams piss that away on stupid major league contracts.
  25. The question I have is what is the reason for the $115,000 cap. Doing some estimates it seems the Saints as a team make lots of money and for them that number seems really, really low. But is that a number the other teams couldn't go above to stay a float? It would seem in that maybe some Revenue sharing would be in order, and they could double that number. But then again, they could say screw it, shut the down the team and all they employ and invest that money somewhere else. I will say this the Saints communication depart did a better job then most others. Basically saying it isn't that we are cheap it is were can't break the rules and get our shut down. "So … if minimum wage and overtime laws were to impact us, then we may be in a position to not be able to abide by our league bylaws, which would force us not to be able to operate.”
