  1. I can see inside Target field from my office and I don't see much happening. I bet Falvine didn't even come in today. Should probably fire them both.
  2. Great teams win pennants but good teams can win the world series. The point is that the playoffs will always be a crapshoot. Your odds of winning it all increase greatly if your in the mix year after year. A mid market team like the twins cannot and should not go all in on a particular year. There are positions of strength they can and will deal from but at a certain point, the cost is just not worth it for some of the names that are available. This FO has a short reputation of making prudent moves and I would think that will continue to remain true through this deadline. That said, I'd certainly like to see them fortify the relief corp. Greinke and a reliever or two would be a good get and wouldn't kill the bottom line.
  3. Unless he can play everyday there is zero chance he'll get to the majors next year.
  4. I would bet that will be the last time Royce does push ups at 2nd base. I have no problem with it tbh. Bat flips, watching your home run...fine by me. Push ups at 2nd base? Thats a bit much.
  5. Falvine should hop a flight to Venezuela with a contract extension in hand. Buy low.
  6. The odds of somebody adding him via Rule 5 are pretty much zero.
  7. I wasn't advocating cutting Mauer. I was saying if he would change his batting approach he might have a few more years left in the tank. If he doesn't he has no real value in the league.
  8. So your saying Joe Mauer's current production is living up to his lifetime stats?
  9. Mauer should be gone. I liked Joe as much as the next person but a .091 ISO is just not going to get it done. The thing is...Joe has the frame to hit 30 bombs a year...he just refuses to change his swing. I think he could extend his career a few more years if he accepted more strike outs in exchange for more power. Not much use for a single hitting first baseman in the league.
  10. Oh it was over. Zero chance they were going to catch the indians...not the way this team has played this year. Too lazy to look through the responses but they took Forsythe back because the Dodgers have had luxury tax issues this year. He's obv gone either before the end of the year or after but really it makes no difference. With free agency the way it was last year, there was a pretty good chance Dozier takes the QO if they extended it and I dont think this FO wanted Dozier back. They have some money to splash around this year, so keep stocking the system, spend some money and remake this team a bit.
  11. Lol...this is this the TD readership in a nutshell.
  12. Our boy Larnach just went deep in the first inning against the Gophers.
  13. Willie Joe Garry Jr.,Pascagoula HS CF L/L HS SR Seems a bit young to me...must have great advance metrics. I'm sure he'll fill out a bit. Nice video of him hitting a dinger: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NSB1Ci-Ajc0
  14. Chris Williams C Clemson Another power hitting catcher Dig it.
  15. given how last years draft turned out i'll trust the FO on this. Quite a few people around here hated the Lewis pick and that turned out great.
  16. Who says Rodney is even going to close games. He very well may not be the closer. Given the configuration of the bullpen, i'll take Rodney as he adds some depth.
  17. If he doesn't outright earn a spot out of spring training he'll get returned. Assuming they sign and/or trade for a couple of front end starters there is zero chance they try and 'stash" him on the roster.
  18. Doubtful. Given his age, if he doesn't outright make the team out of spring training they'll return him. From their official statement the hope is he comes in and competes for a job. If he doesn't then there is no reason to keep him around.
  19. I noticed tonight that this was the third game in a row Rooker hasnt played. He dead?
