  1. This has to be trolling. Kudos and wp sir.
  2. Why even have rehab assignments...what a waste of a generational talent.
  3. This isn't directed at you but probably all of us at one point or another... I think as fans we sometimes get a bit callous to injuries and surgeries. Sure, we would all love to see Raya pitch more innings, but you have to think of the human side and this is where i'm fine with how the Twins are handling him. Anytime you have a surgery and the body is being cut open, it's a big deal. To let him pitch beyond what he might be capable of, knowing a tommy john surgery is a likely outcome, is negligent. If your Raya...if your his parents...or the Twins...nobody wants that outcome. His arm may never be able to handle 6+ innings in one go yet if he turns into a flame throwing closer and avoids TJ surgery, I think everybody, including Raya would be just fine with that. Look at Duran...he was also a starter and was highly touted but does anybody lament at this point that he's not a starter?
  4. There is a really good article on the Athletic that speaks to this. It's a larger piece on why younger players are struggling at their first crack in the bigs. The gist is that...every pitcher in the MLB is a MLB pitcher where that isn't anywhere close to being the case in Triple A. They had a quote from JD Martinez who is on a rehab assignment asking him how he felt and said something to the effect of "I feel fine, but I haven't see any real velocity yet". They also discuss the contraction and consolidation of the minor leagues and this has bounced out older guys that are AAAA caliber. Good read if you have sub.
  5. #3 - Emmanuel Rodriguez (Wichita) - 1-for-5, 2B(7), 2 RBI#7 – Austin Martin (St. Paul) - 2-for-5, 2-2B(2), R, RBI, 2 K.#10 – Brandon Winokur (Fort Myers) – 1-for-5, RBI, 2 K#11 - Tanner Schobel (Wichita) - 0-for-4, BB, 3 K.#12 – Luke Keaschall (Cedar Rapids) – 1-for-3, HBP, 2B(6), SB(10).#13 - Kala’i Rosario (Wichita) - 0-for-4, 2 K.#15 – Danny De Andrade (Cedar Rapids) – 0-for-3, BB#16 – Yunior Severino (St. Paul) – 2-for-4, BB, R, 2 RBI, 2 K#19 – Ricardo Olivar (Cedar Rapids) – 0-for-2, 2 BB, K. Just filled in the gaps. Didn't look that deep into it.
  6. just looking at the rankings... 1,2,4,5,6,8,9,14,17,18,20 are all out with injuries. Not a comment about anything other than... WOOF. This is by far my favorite content on this site...such a bummer all these guys are on the shelf.
  7. Minor League Forum>Everything Else Complaining about people complaining seems a bit complainey to me...but people gonna people. A little good natured trolling makes things interesting...things dont have to be so serious. lols are a good thing.
  8. He truly is Baby Jesus. Congrats Joe
  9. its funny to think that in this day and age that people here the front office operates like a forum. Of course they put thought, data analysis and resources into this.
  10. A great organization is in sync from top to bottom. Whether or not you agree with their decisions, this front office is very well run. Of course Rocco and the FO are working hand in hand, just as the FO is working closely with the minor league teams. It sure seams from the outside looking in that there is a cohesive system and plan from the top to the bottom.
  11. Unless there is a medical issue. The physical would have to come after the draft so cant rule that out.
  12. I generally dont speak in absolutes but Id bet my house that boras didn't find any takers, which is why Keuchel is still with the organization.
  13. not gonna lie...hitting .365 in high school ball is a bit of a red flag.
  14. he's what you call "organizational depth". They can slot him in wherever he's needed...my guess would be after this years draft he'll probably find a home.
  15. if we're going to nitpick, he said CROSS the white lines, not be on the field pregame.
  16. I think most would like to see AK have the job...but I dont think you can realistically count on him after all the injuries. Is Gurriel exciting at this point? Not really...but if AK cant make it work, its better to find your first baseman now rather than after the season starts.
  17. This trade reminds me of something the FO said early in their tenure...don't get too attached the players. You may not agree with their moves, but they certainly aren't afraid to mix it up. While we do not have a clear #1, this starting staff, at least on paper, is as deep as its ever been.
  18. Love this trade. Arraez is a great hitter but adding to the pitching depth + two well rated prospects feels like a bit of steal.
  19. For somebody that can't crack 90mph he had a terrible attitude. Was time to cut and run.
  20. Generally speaking, spring performance doesn't matter as the sample size is too small....especially a shortened one such as this. With analytics regime in place, the FO already knew what their roster was going to look like on opening day barring trades or injuries.
  21. IF JD is healthy and Miranda rakes the first part of the summer, then trade him for pitching. That's a big IF though. JD's calf is half dead at this point, so he probably misses a fair amount of time which will give Miranda plenty of ab's. If he rakes in his debut...trade him for pitching.
  22. I think it's worth noting that while Keith Law is the most well regarded name that people turn to, it's somewhat impossible for him to have his finger on the pulse. He has 30 teams to cover and roughly 600+ prospects to keep tabs on. When it comes to the Twins, i'd place WAY more faith in the staff here and their opinions/rankings over what Keith Law or some other national scribe thinks.
