  1. Look again in the off-season. Something will suddenly be different with “only 1 more month of data”. Of course you will claim something actually changed in that time
  2. If you really are reading into a mid season ranking you are a fool. Look again in the off-season. This isn’t THAT hard. You remind me of the people praising De Leon purely because of his ranking and not looking at the facts. I guarantee that less than 10% of professional scouts would rate Duran below either of those two as of this point in time. Btw that guy isn’t mid 90s, he sits around 92-94
  3. GMs aren’t stupid. They can easily see a difference between a soon to be 25 year old soft-tossing pitcher trending in the wrong direction and a rising 21 year old pitcher with an electric fastball. I really doubt most GMs would rate the Mets player above Duran
  4. Yeah even if you said Duran or Thorpe weren’t clearly better offer, you could easily throw in a guy like Jax, Luke Raley, Jaylin Davis or even Blankenhorn and it would easily beat it without including the top guys. Hell I think Duran by himself is better than the other 2 prospects
  5. Miami absolutely loved Diaz. Not sure many other teams would value him the same. Mets certainly wouldn’t have. Restock a position they’re interested in has some benefits
  6. Reloading pitching depth is a very underrated piece too if that is indeed what the Mets are after...
  7. Really like Lewin Diaz so tough pill to swallow but I really like this deal. Maybe reports are true that Mets want pitching and this will help keep some pitching depth in our minors as well. Diaz was expendable given his position. Hope he does well in Miami. Will be rooting for him
  8. Exactly. Remember when the dodgers were pumping up their “blocked” guys like Willy Calhoun and Jose De Leon? We should be doing that. We have very talented players and close to the majors but simply “blocked”. A package of guys with some combination of Nick Gordon, Stephen Gonsalves, Lewis Thorpe, Luke Raley and Jorge Alcala would be very appealing to other teams. Maybe even Blayne Enlow
  9. Just looked at his college stats and they were dreadful. Hell of a return for an 11th round pick
  10. Oh man I remember really think Alexander Smit would be special. And was intrigued by Juan Portes. A few of the other guys I don’t remember. Brings me back though
  11. That video is awesome. I wonder what he thought of Harold Reynolds breaking him down on film haha
  12. Lots of SS drafted so far (7). It’s nice that the Twins got their top 3 at that position given how apparently deep it is
  13. Going through the Prospect handbook right now. A few guys I'd like to see promoted after the All Star Break: Lewin Diaz - 22 years old. Killing it in FSL. Let the kid try AA. Seems like he's been with us forever. Got a feeling he will need to be protected after this year. Ryan Jeffers - 22 years old. Bump him up. Jordan Balazovic - 20 years old. I could see him getting more innings in FSL but he is overmatching his opponents. Challenge him with AA. Nice call Tom on the breakout in the handbook. Michael Davis - 23 years old. Bump him up to FSL for the sole reason that I want to see Ricardo De La Torre in CR Blayne Enlow - 20 years old. Not great numbers but strikeouts are up this year and already a lot of logged innings in CR. Let him try FSL. Trevor Larnach 22 years old. Keep being aggressive, send him up to AA Gabriel Macial 20 years old. Plenty of plate appears in CR. Hitting a hot bat, which probably isn't sustainable but still time to go up to FSL. Cole Sands - 21 years old. Doing well in CR. Almost 22. Need to be aggressive here, bump up to FSL. Victor Tademo - 19 years old. Got 1 AB in AAA. He needs to be bump up to CR.
  14. Blakenhorn has done well since being called up to AA. Seems like he's been around forever but still only 22 years old (23 in August). I could see him replacing Adrianza as infield utility player though he can't really play SS in a pinch. Would like to see him get some OF experience as well. Seems like the switch finally turned on. Though he does have a .339 BABIP so he will likely come down to earth a bit here.
  15. I have to say I'm quite pleased with Jeffers. At the time I didn't like the pick but he is really doing well since drafted
  16. Well they may be interested in getting help at the deadline which would require giving up prospects. Maybe the in person evaluations are to help make sure they aren’t including the wrong ones!
  17. If I were Kimbrel, I would be salivating at the chance of a 1 year deal with the Twins
  18. Wow I know they like Victor Tademo but that is quite the jump from extended spring training to AAA for the 19 war old. Probably be a short stint
  19. Sure is nice to see Jax starting tomorrow and should get a full year this year.
  20. Glad they are front loading the deals. Seems to make a lot of sense
  21. Very team friendly deals. Even moreso for Polanco. Love these signings
  22. 1 day of service time for Free Medical for life. 43 days of service time to be in the pension program. Both are key service dates for fringe players as well.
  23. Was going to comment that this seems quite high then remembered that Nick Punto spent 14 years in the big leagues. Looked it up and average career length for MLB players is 5.6 years so that's about right. Quite a bit longer than the NFL at 3.3 years
  24. Yeah he does. Slimmest I’ve seen him in a long time. Hope all the hard work translates
