    I just watched Chapman’s highlights to see if there was something I was missing and I really don’t see what you guys all see. A lot of his homeruns are going to turn into pop outs. Nothing really exciting with the bat. Defense is good but there’s been plenty of good defensive 3B. Range isn’t the best and it’s not going to get any better. I would say that former Athletic 3B, Eric Chavez was quite significantly better than what Chapman is today and based on the type of posts here you would think the opposite. It’s bizarre

    Healthier maybe. You can’t promise that going forward. Buxton is elite though in center and his offense showed real promise. His OPS is already pretty close to Chapman. He has far more speed on the base paths and create far more. He is also trending up. Chapman seems like a regression candidate

    Agreed. Rendon is a significant upgrade from Chapman.

    It's almost like people are trying to destroy the core of the team. Why on earth would you ever consider that type of an offer? Aren't you trying to compete for the playoffs and would be giving away key contributors, all three of which project to be more talented than Chapman? I mean if we offered Buxton for him, I would want their top 2 prospects to even start considering it.

    Pete Alonso is easily better than Chapman and its not even close. He had a .941 OPS in his rookie year and simply passed the eye test. Tatis was also better. .969 OPS and high batting average as a 20 year old! I'll give you Robles, but he still projects to be better than Chapman and the nationals would never take that trade. You can't just consider past stats but also you need to look at the scouting report of how they will do going forward. Chapman certainly seems above average but I wouldn't call him a star.

    I didn’t say Lewis will have a better bat. Yes Kirilloff and Rooker will both have a better bat than Chapman. He just isn’t that good. I’m not sure why people are putting him on a pedestal. His batting average was below .250. His OPS was above average at best. The homeruns weren’t exactly moonshots. MLB changes the ball again and he will have a few more fly outs. He’s suddenly a .230-.240 hitter and maybe 20 homers. Solid but not great, high .700’s OPS. I would bet money Rooker and Kirilloff have higher OPS than him next season. Lewis is further out but he could get the call if they need him in Center and can play elite CF defense today

    Exactly this. You just don’t trade players you will use for the playoff run next year and all of those players are on the table to be key contributor. I mean Kirilloff could have a better bat than Chapman in 2020 let alone the future. Lewis better defense and better potential. Hell even Brent Rooker might have better offensive numbers than Chapman next year. I’d center around Rooker and Enlow and maybe another lower prospect or 2

    WAR is not the end all be all of stats. Look at the numbers and actual body of work. He’s above average. Not some superstar.

    I think if they were hell bent on acquiring Buxton then it would probably need to be Buxton for Chapman, Jesus Luzardo, and AJ Puk. Otherwise I’m not sure why you would give up Buxton for Chapmen when Buxton should be a key player for a playoff run. The minor leagues is more than deep enough for Chapman. Perhaps Baddoo, Lewis Thorpe, Blayne Enlow, and Nick Gordon would do it. If they don’t like Baddoos upside maybe Celestino. Or maybe even Rooker (his offense would immediately replace Chapman so would need to be careful here)

    Brewers fans at work today were feeling leery with Shaw when they heard Moose signed elsewhere. Their GM apparently felt the same way as he let him go even after losing Moose. I’d pass

    For me my first game was when I was a youngster. Pretty sure it was the season after Puckett had to retire because I remember being told about that and being disappointed not getting to see him. I did get to see chuck Knoblauch in person though because I remember him being one of my favorite players just based on how the PA guy would say his name. The early games I remember are a blur but there is one that stuck out as most memorable. I’m trying to remember the specifics of the game but even that’s is a little hazy. I think we were playing the Red Sox. Come the 9th inning (or perhaps extra innings?) and the bases were loaded, possibly 2 outs, and Pat Meares hit it over the shortstop for a walk off hit. I was hooked. Big fan of Meares after that even after he went to Pirates. I watched a lot of games. I was in Wisconsin (on the border) though so when I couldn’t get them on the TV, I would listen on the radio. Listened to many games on the radio. Remember the bad teams but you knew the young guys like Guzman would bring the team to the playoffs one day. By the time I was in 6th or 7th grade I was ****posting on the ESPN boards with guys like yarnivak, ofx1 and rocketpig and following the minor leagues quite closely Edit: found the game I was referring to.     He could do very well. I don’t think anyone that truly has a baseball mind would be surprised if he did very well.

    I see a lot of people with “grass is greener” mindset. Which Twins player would Twins fans be most excited about joining the Twins if he came from another team? Is this player the same person you think has the most potential on the Twins?

    Backing into a parking spot is more safe than not. First motion should always be forward. It’s gross how disrespectful my generation is becoming to elders thinking they know everything (when they clearly don’t). This article reminds me of the “ok boomer” trend and should be removed for being disrespectful

    Isn’t it relevant in a thread asking what Eddie Rosario value should be? Isn’t the flip side what value others have in comparison to receive a return of a superstar major league player?

    Agreed that a bad team should take Jax and I would root for him. That’s a tough one but I agree with the decision. Javier - just got a feeling that is going to come back and bite us but I understand trying to sneak him through. He’s never healthy

    This is exactly right. If a team wants to win now and wants a player that's an established 30+ homer hitter then they will need to give up a lot of prospects (who more often than not, never pan out). Its a risk, but if a team wants to be successful, then they need to take these types of risks giving up prospects for an established star.

    Starting point?? Duran wouldn’t be traded for Sandy straight up. Nor would Rooker. Sandy projects as back the rotation or bullpen type

    Absolutely am. Eddie is one of the best in the game and those guys are good yet but just prospects. Gore is talented but we have seen countless times how top pitching prospects fizzle. Also SP is losing value as they pitch less and less innings. Trammall is a good prospect but struggled last year. Abrams is pretty far out too
