  1. Why is Greene's strikeouts low? Does his fastball not have movement
  2. Not sure what round he is projected to go in, but a player Im intrigued by is Jason Bahr, relief pitcher, out of UCF. Anyone know anything about this kid?
  3. Because you risk falling in the draft to a lessor slot amount. You come to an agreement with the team stating that you'll sign for x amount if they take you at 1-1, which should be above the slot where they think they might fall but less than the slot at 1-1.
  4. Unfortunate about McKay. He went from potential 1-1 to potentially falling out of the top 10. I wonder if teams will draft him as a hitter. I wonder how much playing both ways impacted his performance down the stretch
  5. Certainly a competitor. I understand why Greene didn't want to risk injury but the whole not playing thing sort of turns me off to him a bit.
  6. Looks like I was right about De Leon. He doesn't have much. He's better suited for the bullpen IMO. Never going to make it as a starter. Maybe as a 4 or 5 but is never going to be effective there
  7. Do I got this right? 2 innings pitched, 2 hit batters, 1 balk, 1 wild pitch and still didn't give up any runs??
  8. Exactly. If he's doing that on 7 days rest, then I'm not sure what 5 days rest would do to him. Not many successful pitchers throwing less than 90 mph at the big league level.
  9. I don't like McKay as a pitcher. You got to be able to throw greater than 90 mph to be a 1st overall pick. Sorry but he's not going to be a great pitcher in the big leagues. Kyle Wright would be a better pick if you want a pitcher. I wouldn't be opposed to drafting a high school player that goes underslot and we go overslept with the next two picks to better spread our risk around. There's no sure fire prospect at the top to not try limiting risk. Picking a low ceiling guy is not limiting risk, it's just dumb.
  10. I honestly wouldn't mind taking an underslot high school guy with the top pick. There is just no guy that screams that we need to draft them. This is a draft I could see a young guy in the 4-7 range be a better player than any of the top picks. Save some money and grab some elite talent in the other rounds and spread the risk a little more
  11. I was just think of a comp for this guy and I just see Shannon Stewart with a stronger arm. That is a huge compliment. While it's not a power hitter you typically look for with corner outfield, we may not need the extra power with Sano and others on the team. We may have a leadoff hitter for years to come. And I'm as big of fan of Eddie Rosario as they come but I'd be open for this guy upending him because it fits the team better
  12. I was down on this guy early in his career. Didn't really produce in DSL or rookie league his first two years and was back in extended spring last year but he is really starting to come around. This is a kid that is still only 20 years old and could really shoot up the prospect list in the next year or two
  13. I have never even heard of him. Is he an agent for players? If so, that is pretty inappropriate. I agree with everyone else that the 88-90 scares me. Not many pitchers have been successful throwing less than 90 mph. Would hate to grab a soft tossed at 1-1. And while I like his bat, I'm not sure we should grab a 1B at 1-1 either. I'm down to Wright and Greene. Both have their pros and cons. I think I would roll the dice with Greene. This has to be one of the more difficult years having the 1-1 pick.
  14. Brian Dozier will go on a streak. I have to think Buxton bat the rest of the way could be good for .230 at the least which is improvement. Pitching scares me but if Berrios can be decent and Santana can be a sub 4.0 ERA pitcher the rest of the way I like our chances. I wonder if we have any wildcard players in the minors that could make a surprise impact. Lamonte Wade? Would be nice to plug him in that 2 hole if he is up for the challenge. Can nick burdi make his way into our pen?
  15. Wow I had no idea. Never saw that before. Pretty amazing to drop that much. He had another nice game tonight. Quickly becoming one of my favorites. Hope he gets a call up sometime after the break and definitely deserves a September call up this year
  16. Would you trade meija back to the Giants for Jeff samardiza? Otherwise I would consider sending them Palka and a guy like max Murphy, Sam clay or Chris Paul
  17. For those watching how did his stuff look today?
  18. Something happen? He didn't pitch? Is he in the bullpen?
  19. Another strong night for Wade. 2-3 with a homer and a walk. Batting average up to .327. OBP up to .465. He should get called up to AAA soon. If either Rosario, Kepler, or Grossman went down I would give this kid one of the first options in the bigs as well.
  20. Is that top 5 overall or top 5 rounds? I was skeptical last year but man this kid is making me a believer.
  21. Watched a few videos of Torii from sacrementobob and that guy can flat out coach
  22. Gonsalves issues don't sound remotely close to this situation
  23. A couple more pitchers we need to DFA
  24. I knew I would have let Buxton hit there. Jesus Christ Mauer
