  1. Got them right where we want them. On another note, we have to lead the league in solo home runs. It's crazy how there's never anyone on base for our shots
  2. We almost saw every batter in bostons lineup score a run that inning. That's kind of neat
  3. As incredible as it is, we're officially 1 month into the baseball season. We have played 27 or 16.7% of games this season and currently in 1st place in our division. I couldn't be happier. The young guys are really showing up. Sano is a beast. Rosario is on a 15 game hitting streak. Santana is on fire. Buxton is starting to show signs of life and Dozier hasn't even gone off yet on one of his patented streaks. We are going to contend. It may be this year it may not be but it will be soon. Hopefully we can get some pitching help soon. Anyway, it is much more fun following a winning team. Looking forward to the continued progress
  4. Here's a list of the highest paid international signings. A couple twins in the top 10 https://www.google.com/amp/www.baseballamerica.com/international/50-biggest-international-bonuses-of-all-time/%3Famphtml%3D1
  5. Looking back at the 2009 class I only recognize Sano, Profar, and Polanco. Any of the other guys doing anything? http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prospects/international-affairs/2009/268478.html
  6. Of course production means something, but most combine it with age at level. For me personally, if a prospect is still in the minors at age 24 is on pace to be in the minors at age 24 (i.e. 22 in low A ball as an example) I start to discount the performance dramatically and consider them a fringe prospect. 26 or older is non prospect for me. I know Aaron Judge is a big elephant in the room with that analysis but it has served me well in the past. Any general rules you try to follow in your analysis of minor leaguers?
  7. Thanks. I was counting this as the 10th game in my calculation. Glad to see the huge improvement though. Those numbers aren't bad
  8. Can someone put together Buxtons stats the last 10 games? I want to say he's hitting .307 but it is too time consuming to do via mobile.
  9. Is he on pace to have more RBIs this game than Buxton will have all season?
  10. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ervin_Santana
  11. Fun fact: Ervin Santana's birth name was Johan Santana but he changed it as he was coming up through the minors because there was another pitcher named Johan Santana.
  12. Buxton has more RBIs today (2) than all other games this season combined
  13. I think Dozier might lead the league in solo homerun a this year
  14. Did he play football for the Wisconsin Badgers?
  15. Ouch. McKay's line was throwing me off. 4 runs off 3 hits and 1 walk? Ouch
  16. What do all those numbers for the pitcher mean? I imagine the last number is strikeouts. Couldn't make out the order of the others
  17. Disappointed in blankenhorn. Thought he'd be doing better or in ft. Myers. Cabbage is starting to look like a bust. Too bad. Really liked those two picks. Gordon looking good. I'm high on Vielma too. If Greene is our pick I think he's instantly our top prospect. McKay might be too, but I'd probably put him at 2. Hope we get some more infield help in the draft. In the first 10 rounds we should probably draft 7 pitchers and rest be infield help
  18. Is it just me or does it seem like we have tommy John surgeries at an abnormally high rate? What the hell
  19. 3 hit batters seems like a lot. Very few walks though. How is his control?
  20. was looking at his stats last night but couldn't find the one I was looking for. Any clue how many hits per inning he was giving up?
  21. Just looking at stats I think the Twins would be crazy not to draft McKay 1-1. Like Greene a lot but there's so much more risk and his performance in high school is not as strong as McKays in college. McKay has the pitches. He may have the best bat in the draft too. I think these 2 are a clear cut 1-2 in this draft but hard to separate at the top.
  22. I have always been in the Greene camp but I'm warming up to McKay. Biggest reservation is that I don't believe he could be an Ace. Greene has that potential
  23. I realize he's young and I'm not exactly a scout but he looks alright from the film I've seen. The one thing that concerned me was that his delivery seemed a bit long and like he would be easy to steal bases on
  24. I have him at 15 strikeouts in 63 plate appearances or 23%. If he can keep this improvement going, he's just about to get much more interesting and probably should get a call up as a DH/4th outfielder at some point this season
