  1. The only reason you'd have to trade Correa is because you can't handle sitting still this offseason. It won't make the team better in 2025 and I absolutely don't want a lame duck owner and front office group making decisions on prospects that next group has to live with.
  2. And I think it's less than that for some major studio movies, and some of those studios make them guarantee that they'll show the film on x amount of screens for x amount of weeks, which would cause them to lose money on the movie itself.
  3. I guess injured relievers of the 6.00+ ERA variaty now get 7.5M, as demonstrated by Jordan Romano signing with the Phillies: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/phillies-to-sign-jordan-romano.html MLBTR link because Twitter is a cesspool. The good ones like Blake Treinen are getting 11M per on multi year deals: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/12/dodgers-to-sign-blake-treinen-2.html I'm ready to Rip Van Winkle this offseason. Wake me up come March.
  4. I used to go to more, but I'm down to about two games a year. Kids are tough! They don't need to market to me though, and I don't need the small-town, homespun marketing that they seem to think is right up the alley of ma and pa in the sticks. They should be marketing to the "What should we do tonight?" crowd that can make a game work on more than just weekends and don't have to plan for traffic.
  5. I'd rather have Ober than Casas by a country mile. I'd guess Casas would be compelled to slide to a full time DH role before too long and he looks like a 25-30 HR guy, not a 30-40 HR guy. Also, his K% went from 26% to 31% last year. That has to be a sizable red flag. In the end, I'd bet the difference between Casas and Miranda is significantly smaller than the difference between Ober and whomever replaces him.
  6. The North Loop has some of the best places to eat in the state; it's an easy decision to pregame at the dozens of options in the neighborhood. And hopefully new ownership will realize that the most attractive spot in the state, with the highest density population in the state is in their backyard. Why they don't market to the walkable crowd who already pay high end urban prices for food and services, instead of out-staters who no longer travel to games like they used to is a mind-blowingly shortsighted marketing blunder.
  7. Yeah, if there are studies, it's the billionaires who have commissioned them, and solely to see where they can gauge fans. And I think the movie theaters took the queue from the pro sports venues. As a kid I remember Metrodome concessions being on the pricey side, while movie theater popcorn and soda at the local college games were pretty cheap. Now those types of venues have more than embraced the pro-sports captive audience model.
  8. Yes, seems Kepler is already fading from my memory, sorry. He definitely was a liability last year though too.
  9. Losing Santana, sure. Losing Margot? That sounds like an upgrade no matter who gets his job. At least that person can be sent down after his first 0-fer-10 stretch.
  10. Man, the Panthers had a shot to beat the Eagles. That would have been a big deal.
  11. DBs just can't play with lower body injuries; they can't keep up with WRs if they do. Cine was a fluke, but it's why they never should have drafted Booth.
  12. For about the first 45 years of the franchise they seemed to have 1, 2 or even 3 AP lineman at all times, many of them HOFers. Spielman was fantastic at finding skill position players, but ever since he took over, this organization has struggled in that area.
  13. And against the worst pass rush in the league…..
  14. As for the game, I think with extra adrenaline Kirk gets off to a hot start, but then the Vikings D shuts Atlanta down. But there should be extra juice in this game, both from Cousins and the Vikings defense. I wouldn't be shocked if Cousins gets knocked out of the game.
  15. Considering they weren't sure about Reichard's availability until about Thursday, I would have kept him sidelined one more week. When it comes to kickers and hamstrings, be extra cautious. Romo had a heck of an audition. Good for him, he should get a solid look to start somewhere next year.
  16. Gilmore is out. Ish. Though I'm guessing since they know early, the Vikings will have a better game plan at hiding Fabian Moreau this time.
  17. I agree, but dumping Paddock or Vazquez wouldn't qualify as a 'big move' in my book.
  18. Needed the last minute to beat the Vikings too. And I'd been thinking about that this week. NE tried that 68 yard field goal last week that was two yards short. Should have the Vikings sent Reichard out to try a 67 yarder in that game?
  19. Honestly, that other team usually gets those plays.
  20. I don't see a realistic scenario where the Vikings win the division without beating the Lions. And Buffalo coming in after this tight game will be a tough one for them.
  21. It really seems like people want to make a move just to make a move. You don't get better this year by trading your best players, and if this ownership group is packing up, why do we want them making decisions to impact the future? If you can't get significantly better, standing pat is the right choice. Even if it's boring.
  22. I take it back. I want them to have bad QBs until the end of time.
  23. I'm not sure it's the worst thing as I do think he's good, but I don't think he's great. That has put plenty of teams in a situation where they can win a bunch of regular season games but never able to win it all.
  24. I think the best scenario for the Vikings is if this game ends in a tie. Minnesota would control their own destiny and still keep Green Bay 1.5 games back should the Vikings beat Atlanta. After this game, Green Bay's toughest game is against the Vikings. If they beat Detroit AND Minnesota, they'll probably win the division, and that's worst case scenario for me.
  25. Detroit does play Buffalo next week. The Vikings could over take them. Not to say they over take them for the rest of the season......
